Fair points. Personally, I’m way more bummed about this loss than excited about beating a Michigan team at home w/ a frosh QB who is one dimensional. It was a good win, not taking that away. But we need to win those games on the road.

 

I think what is frustrating is that Riley is in year four. He was brought here to win big games like this. Is this team heading in the right direction? Absolutely. Is there hope for the future? Yes, I think so. It’s not the sky is falling, BUT in year four I think most people expected more. Not saying we should fire him or everything is lost. Just that this loss stings a lot because it tells us – again – we can’t win at the LOS against elite physical teams. We got Lynn, we got a great GM, we got a decent NIL collective. I understand some patience is needed here – but how much? I don’t know. If we lose three games next year, is that an okay thing? What are reasonable expectations I guess is what I’m struggling with. Like you said, a barometer game. And we aren’t where we want to be yet. Close, but not yet there.
