USC, Ore and BYU are the clear favorites at this point.
He was down at USC in late April, catching the latter part of the Trojan Olympics.
"I had training that day so was late, so I was only there for bowling, but the experience, it was cool," said Lyons. "Everyone was telling me to commit all weekend, and then right when Pepe committed, they were even pushing me more. It was a fun environment for sure. I have a great relationship with (quarterbacks) coach Huard. We're very close and I love coach Huard. I've been knowing him for awhile because of Walker, so it's been great. He was the original coach recruiting me at USC, but coach Riley was the first one to offer me.
"Of course, Walker is recruiting me a lot, for sure. I wouldn't expect him not to. I know they have a quarterback committed for 2026, but not in 2027. So I know they look at me as a 2027, so the 2026 commit doesn't affect me."
Lyons' visit to USC is set for June 7.
The following weekend, he'll head to Oregon.
Ryder is giving his recruitment due diligence. So be it, USC should just give him space. It's like getting that hot chick that plays hard to get. Keep recruiting him but do not apply too much pressure... Cheers.
Great news!! My read between the lines take is, "I love USC and would love to play with my brother, but show me the money". If SC is within $250k of the highest offer, he goes to SC.
