Dodgers are on a run that needs to be appreciated by fans or they’ll miss it. It’s almost over.
Dodgers have had a winning record an astounding 20 years in a row. Last
Losing record was 2005. They’ve had one losing record. Barely. This millennium. This century. 25 years. One time.
The dodgers have had 10 seasons of 100+ wins in their history. Well. Since 1900. That’s pretty much the modern era and then some.
In those 125 years and those 10 seasons? 5 of those 10 100+ seasons have come since 2017. Along w 4 World Series appearances. This year will be 6.
4 Of the top 5 win totals of all Time for the franchise have come in that time. Since 2017. Including the top 3 in franchise history 111. 106 106 in the last 6 years. Oddly none of those historic teams won the title. It’s a cruel game for the team ruining baseball
Dodger World Series pattern is two each decade they win. 1950s. 1960s. 1980s and 2020s they were in 3 in the 70s. Losing them all. To that scumbag Reggie Jackson
People predicting 116 wins are
Reaching. Not sure if they even want to. But .667 winning percentage means 108 wins. That’s a ton. 116 would be .716. Me thinks that’s too much. I’m todays game.
I think la will be on pace for all time records. Then ease off managing rest and injuries and not get there. I predict 108. Which is by itself a flabbergasting number.
Being 5-0 they now need to go 103–54 to get there. .656. So hitting 108 and .667 just became a little easier
Anyway. These are historic times. If you’re not appreciating. Enjoying. Watching. You’re missing out on a time you’ll never forget and you’ll never get back. These runs are rare. Even for great franchises. Also those always looking ahead and counting what’s ahead and what’s going to be amazing are going to be disappointed. Because it’s never enough
Having 20 Years of winning baseball is a streak. Having like 13 NL west titles in 14 years. Incredible. 4 World Series. 2 wins and 1-2 others that were dubiously stolen. What a run. MVPs by Kershaw. Ohtani. Cy youngs. 100 win seasons. Full house. Full houses on the road. Traveling rock star team. And obviously they’re going to be good for a few more years.
Don’t blink and miss it. Don’t be annoyed for records you don’t get. It’s not the nature of this game to win everything all the time. This era is the greatest in dodgers history. Don’t be a tampon and pout if they don’t win every game or every World Series. This ownership group is rewriting the team and baseballs history books. And they’re doing it in Dodger blue.
You have to allow yourself to enjoy the here and now. It will be gone before you know it. We had Pete Carroll and a seemingly endless run ahead of us it felt tlike at times. Then hit rough sledding over the next 10+ years, much of it due to jealousy(NCAA sanctions).
Right now, other owners are complaining about the Dodgers success. The new CBA is up at the end of 2026. So that combined with an aging roster, dead money with long contracts, a possible Guggenheim sale of team, means enjoy these next two seasons as much as possible. We'll still be good after a possible work stoppage and sale of team. We'll have Ohtani, other good players, and still try to win. But we may never enjoy anything close to what we have now. Enjoy indeed.
A microcosm of that feeling hit me last night. I was upset over Betts' bad error that left us behind until the 6th inning. But reminded myself that he's given us a lot of success and joy the past six years, so let it go. I did, and he won us the game later with his bat. A small reminder to enjoy the now.
Great post…. Agree, I’m not focused on winning 110+ games. Win the west to start. And who knows, you might have to win 100+ games to to take the west this season.
At 7-0 nowntheybhabe to play 651 baseball to do it 108 that is. They’ve just won 5 in a row from two excellent playoff teams. And 2 from the cubs lol
