Hope the mob doesn’t run him out of town.  If he stays healthy, He will be functional in the NFL.

can he handle the pressure he has on him now?

media pressing the bust story. Sam’s success there and in Seattle. Kids in the hot seat

I halfway expected that to be another lie you or Grocery stick said that I said-lol

Well Sam’s story gives JJ quite a leash.  He has 8 years, can play on 5 teams in 5 years, and even then he wasn’t the 3rd pick.  So JJ can become some game manager somewhere.

Here’s the problem though.  Windows are small.  Every team only has a few years to have a shot at the ring.  Look at the Rams.  They had their shot.  The Lions were right there.  Now nope.  Denver.  The Seahawks now.  The Chiefs were great for 5 years.  I mean great.  And bad this year.

So the Vikings had a window before Sam but were missing a functional QB.  He was that and more for them and they really had their year last year.  And Sam just laid an egg.  Twice.  Two biggest games.    So they go with JJ.  Thud.  That means the Vikings have had elite talent and able to compete at the highest level for 3 years.  They don’t have time for JJ to come up to speed.  They may even start getting old and losing guys THIS off season.  That’s just the way it works in a league where the average career is 3-4 years.  Look at Terrel Davis.  Man we thought he and Denver were gonna be awesome for years.  One injury.  Done.  Bo Jackson, same.

JJ gonna get labeled with the downfall of the Vikings especially with Sam’s later success  Neither are probably fair stories.    Seahawks won because Sam stopped turning the ball over for 3 games.    And their Defense was IMO one of the 3-4 great defensive performances of all time.  I previously said the 85 Bears.  And I think I said the 2016?? Broncos who beat Brady and then Cam Newton.  I will add to that one of those Ravens teams.  And obviously this Seattle  squad.

        Fair points.

Seattle won 14 games and secured the #1 seed and Sam

led league in TOers. It’s because a lot of firepower (points) come with it. Not just TDs either. FGs count too even tho they are NEVER mentioned positively unless a game winner. Points per game (for an offense) is a much better a stat then just TDs and INTs.

Seattle won the SB because Sam was played mistake free AND he played at a very high offensive level. And wasnt getting sacked. It wasn’t just one or the other. It was all of it.

JJM has one year to show a lot. He doesn’t have to be all pro to keep his job but he for sure can’t suck. He finished strongly last year (2-3 games) after a poor start.

McVay and Stafford have Seattles D’s number. They torched these guys 3 times. That’s not 85 bears worthy.
but Seattle is of course a very good D.  So we’re the Pats.

Yeah, those 85 Bears were something.  I think their D was called the 47 D after Lynch.  In college ball, I believe the Huskies 90 or 91 D was the best I have ever seen, with Emtman at NT.

Agree on Huskys D. Never seen anything like it.
USCs Wild Bunch 2 was a lot of fun!

you don’t get rid of a probowl quarterback for a functional quarterback. Functional being defined as a starter in the middle of the pack.

And that is exactly what the Vikings did. As I have posted I never understood the hype about the Michigan kid. Seems like a good quarterback. That’s it. Not a star.

The pressure is now on Sam to threepete, if there is pressure on anyone.

Sam isn’t getting many props for the game because he just didn’t do much. Didn’t have to. So what. It’s a team sport and he’s a team guy.

USC now has a superbowl champion quarterback , which is all I really care about. That game was DOMINATED by trojans. sc

Word 🍻 the meme/curse of no USC QB winning a Super Bowl has been buried forever!!!

and yes Big Cat and Nwosu also had great years!!!

saw Brandon Pili in for one snap against Rams and RB ran right by him for 25 yards. That brought back unpleasant memories.
