Many here in PA were hoping he’d be named Penn State’s head coach. PA guy with local recruiting ties certainly but the AD Pat Kraft opted for a proven P4 head coach plus UCLA got to Chesney first. I know there are a lot of Trojan fans here, but many in PA are hoping Chesney has a chance to succeed at UCLA and UCLA doesn’t become his head coaching graveyard for years to come.
Saturday, apparently, when Chesney was interviewing with Penn St, they gave unsatisfactory answers to a couple of his questions. Don’t know what Chesney’s questions were, but that soured him on Penn St, and happily for UCLA, he became our head coach.
