ParticipantBruddah AtlBruin, I’m not a gambler, so had to Google what the betting line means. Now I understand it, shoot looks like the odds for winning is pretty bad.
Here is Google AI answer.
The betting line USC +0.5 to under 62.5 is a parlay bet combining two separate wagers. For you to win this bet, both outcomes must occur:
USC +0.5 (Point Spread): USC must either win the game outright, or the game must end in a tie (if applicable to the sport, though this line is typically used to ensure no push). The “+0.5” means 0.5 points are added to USC’s final score for betting purposes. Since no half-points are scored in a game, this simply means USC cannot lose by any margin.Under 62.5 (Total Points): The total combined score of both teams at the end of the game (including any overtime points) must be 62 points or less.
If even one of these conditions is not met, the entire bet is a loser. The odds for this type of combined bet (parlay) are typically higher than for either individual bet because it is less likely that both outcomes will happen.PS. Shoot, I think the combine score will be 70 pts to 80 pts… Cheers

ParticipantButkus, USC is playing without it’s 3 leading receivers, and TCU is starting it’s backup QB, although he’s not inexperienced. USC will also be missing 2 starters on the OL and another starting OL is questionable. USC is missing 3 of it’s 5 leaders of TFL and both starting safeties. To quote a line from the movie Wargames, “Maybe the best play is not to play.”

ParticipantI could see a 31-28 kind of outcome making the under bet tempting, but picking the winner in this one is tough. Like you pointed out a number of starters missing, and you never know how many of these players even care about the bowl game.
