    Bewildering how a HC of a top football program doesn’t realize he’s under constant scrutiny and foolish to believe you won’t get rug-pulled by some money/fame thirsty twat. Maybe it’s the money. I’m sure he’ll be fine; sucks for his kids and wife. Ugh.

  I did not realize he was married. I assumed he was a single guy fooling around with a staff member.
  
  now it has gotten worse. Apparently he has been detained by police. I don’t know if they have released him. I don’t know when he was detained by police. But this looks like it’s going to get uglier before it gets better

  Article clip, Moore was detained by police in Saline, Mich., three hours after his firing. Saline police turned him over to police in Pittsfield Township for investigation into potential charges, ESPN reported.
  
  Why was Moore arrested for sex with a staff member? Unless the staff person was under age? Is adultery a crime in Michigan? For the board lawyers, please help explain dis sheet.
  
  Dang, some guys just can not control their impulse with the opposite sex. Poor wife and kids having to deal with all the media blitz and shame. But, I’m sure his wife knew about the affair… Cheers

    Supposedly Moores wife locked him out of the house, he kicked the door down and put a knife to her throat. He left the house saying he was gonna kill himself.
    The girl he got pregnant is married too. Wow, textbook example of how to ruin your life.
    
    UPDATE: Sherrone Moore has been arrested in Saline, MI on charges pertaining to the University’s investigation. I’m told he’s being charged with the following:
    
    – 3 counts of of criminal sexual conduct (1st degree)
    
    – 3 counts of sodomy –
    
    1 count of assault

  During an argument with his wife, Moore threatened to kill himself. He then drove to – and broke into – the home of his assistant, where he held a knife to his own throat and threatened to kill both himself and the staffer.
  
  He was then intercepted at a local church after his wife provided his phone’s location to the authorities. He is now in protective custody. Just a tragic chain of events for all involved.

    Maybe some legal brains can help here? A lawsuit? Why not file for divorce? Maybe it’s different in MI regarding assets?

    I bet it has something to do with the fact that there is probably going to be no employment to garnish from for future child support, etc. so this is a way to get a big settlement upfront to cover the family and current mortgages and expenses while he is potentially behind bars or seeking future employment, which will be hard for him to do. Have no clue how divorces work though, and hopefully never have to find out. Maybe others can chime in on this if they have been through one, but one of my friends did that, thinking he would be off Scott free, and tried to do a lump sum to go away type thing. He was an idiot. Lost a lump sum and then still got nailed for support (as he should for his kid), but it ended up costing him way more.

    Woman can lump sum sign away her alimony, I THINK. Though I think she can still revisit “when she changes her mind” Idiotic.
    
    The key here is child support. Even if you advance pay it? You can’t lump sum it away. I tried that and I was going to pay the full amount up front. NOW money and the lawyer said yeah, she will take it but the court won’t allow it. Don’t do that.

    Ya that is exactly what he did, he just didn’t factor in the child support staying the same. He thought by doing g what he did it would lessen that somehow, and was badly mistaken. So she got a lump and then child support, hooked up with a guy who had some coin who was also divorced so they just were never legally married until kid turned 18. She had a Rover with a license plate frame that says something like “he got the boat, I got his balls” . Poor guy.
