KeymasterUSC has O verbals for 2027. Not sure if that is Chad. But last year USC had 3-4-5 guys for 26 by the time the 25 class was done.

ParticipantI think the slow play with USC recruiting has something to do with NIL and schools pay out vs 2026? Dat’s why a few 2027 players reclassified, TE Bowman, QB Lyons and others last year. There was talk about the change or limitations for 2027. Can anyone explain the change for 2027? Thanxs.
Update: Googled search, found this basic answer.

ParticipantUSC is doing roster protection next year, ie, keeping the 2026 class in the fold. I read the other day that most of the 2026 class is signed to three year deals. Next years class will be much smaller. 18-20 recruits. Gotta be picky.

KeymasterOne thing to remember is that Bowden has a certain way he wants to build a roster. in terms of balance and probably heights weight and speed
also no one on this roster this year was “his“ guy. It’s pretty obvious with the way he recruited that he expects a lot of these 3 stars to wash out. And perhaps quickly.
years ago, we would see and celebrate fourth and fifth year guys who had put in their time and became starters as red shirt, juniors or seniors
today the philosophy is that if you are on campus for two years and have not managed significant playing time, you should probably move on For offensive lineman that’s three years probably probably quarterbacks too
but just about any other position? Wide receivers tight ends, running backs, defensive backs, linebackers, defensive lineman if you aren’t sniffing the field in that timeframe they are probably going to ask you to leave and the way Bowden recruits. I have no doubt that’s part of it
Here is another factor. Carlon jones and manatai both signed pretty hefty NIL deals. They are making $. And they didn’t get in the field. It’s a business now. USC isn’t paying you to sit. So if you’re soaking $$$ then you better produce, give that NIL back or move on.
so while some transfers might be shocking and we don’t understand them. It might be a case of. They weren’t bad but they were horrible compared to what they’re being paid

ParticipantI’ve found dat top Calif DL and DB’s are leaning to USC. Could not find top LB’s, QB, OL favoring USC. Dang, USC needs athletic, fast, quick 225 lb LB’s dat are run stoppers and cover in passing plays. Hard to find versatile LB’s. C.LR must find a top QB in 2027… Cheers

KeymasterTop kid at Poly is already a Georgia Commit. Another big kid. Forget what position is also a commit to an out of state school. Top DL guy or OL guy in the IE is 97% ND.
I am not saying it’s not early, but it is later than it was last year and hopefully Bowden didn’t just buy everyone with 2026 free money.
