      His dream job at florida: gone

      backup job at ucla: gone

      He should have stuck around at AZ taken the 5m, got 8-10 wins each season probably with a raise and bailed. Brennan came in and made him look like a clown, doing more with less. Nobody expected it to be his destination job. But he chased a bag,  got paid and jettisoned his family. Bathing in gold coins like scrooge mcduck. So i guess it was worth it.

        Never said that.  By almost all metrics wash is a better job…but it was pretty clear his goal was HC at Florida. Remember when he was a student there and left messages on spurriers car to get an assistant job? Of course you don’t. That said he kneecapped himself and went to wash when napier was certainly going to be gone. He could have stayed the course at AZ and got it. Maybe it won’t matter in  2-3 years. Just spitballing here.

        is Sam Hughes still happening? Wasn’t that started by a big booster who was RC Distributor out there? Or maybe he was just there a lot.
        i always got a kick out of that. Like RC Cola is still alive?

        Sam Hughes area of tucson? My mom has a favorite restaurant down there the sonoran. I havent been there in a while. Don’t know anything about the RC guys. Dirtbags is still a thing. First round on me.🤠

        So you think ol’ Jedd is a lifer at UW, mandb?  That works well for Oregon.

        Funny that Oregon and Lanning have a DeBoer problem, not a UW or Jedd Fisch problem:  0-3 vs DeBoer/UW and 3-0 vs Fisch/UW (including one win over Arizona, sorry Old Pueblo!)

        Would be fun to meet DeBoer and his Alabama team in the playoffs to try to get that monkey off of Lanning’s back…..maybe even at Autzen for a first round game if everything plays out a certain way?!?

        No, I don’t think Fisch is a lifer at UW. It is no secret his goal is to coach in the NFL but he needs a more complete resume. I kept an eye on the Florida job but not many others is a concern.

        One thing for sure, Fisch was not going to take the UCLA if offered.

        As far as wins/losses, Fisch didn’t inherit a mature, multi-million dollar roster that had been built over the course of the last decade. DeBoer did inherit a very experienced roster of Petersen’s last recruiting efforts, plus the addition of a difference maker at QB, but left with very little.

        I am fine with Fisch. They looked much better than last year, no blowout losses and the 4 loses were all within one score in the 4th quarter. Even the game with UO with just under 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter, UO faced a 3rd and 9 from UW getting the ball back with a chance to take the lead. Was that because UW is better than most thought or UO is not as good as many think?

        Plus, he just signed a very solid recruiting class today. If any coach leaves or stays is not a big deal to me. With the portal and NIL, it just isn’t that important to me anymore. I will just see who is on the roster come September and just want to watch a college football game.

        Well, this game was your Super Bowl, mandb.  Makes sense your Huskies brought their A game.

        Not sure Oregon has a “beat Washington today” slogan permanently up on their office walls (Mrs Fisch’s post was from October).  Makes sense your team was jacked for this one. Oregon doesn’t want to just beat Washington, we have bigger aspirations… 🙂
