Oregon is going to have their hands full with Fisch and UW in Seattle IMO.  Oregon is clearly the better team but it is an away game against a bitter rival with an excellent QB and a first-class coach.  Great football coming this next weekend.  I believe Michigan will beat OSU in Ann Arbor.  That will be one helluva game.  Just a thought, but if Michigan beats OSU and UW beats Oregon, Oregon might miss the CFP.

Michigan is 9-1 outside the UsC game. But oh we don’t talk about that.  USC is poorly coached.

UO is 10-1.  A top 5 team.  And was playing at home.  With UsC starting safeties both out.  And their starting rb and 3 linemen.  Oh but the USC coach sucks.

Notre dame is playoff bound and has won 10 straight games.     Duh.  And it was a road game.

people are acting like the Trojans were supposed to be a top 3-5 team.  They weren’t and aren’t.  Not yet.

and acting like they’re supposed to go win on the road.  Reminder.  Ohio state last year won the national championship.  And lost to Oregon in Eugene.  Lost  to Michigan.   And beat ND in the title game.

hello people?  These are pretty good teams USC is playing.  Takes awhile to get there.

9-3 will get a good bowl.  10-3 would be a great finish.   A top 15 ranking.  And the top class in the nation builds their depth next year.

All of which I agree with, but your response did not address the points in my post.

I think your supposition is based on the Big Ten only getting three teams?  And with the collapse of state Penn. that looks like a strong possibility.

And that’s where the argument for had to drop nd comes in.  They don’t have them on the schedule and they are 10-2 and likely a playoff team.  Just as Michigan will be if they win

Good points, GTrojan. Always tough to win at the lake.

And oddly enough if Oregon somehow does beat UW and Michigan beats tOSU, it will be Indiana vs Oregon in the B1G championship game, which I hope does not come to pass. There is no real benefit to playing in a CCG these days.

My preference for next weekend is for Oregon to win, Michigan to lose, and get a manageable opponent to play at Autzen in the first round (SMU maybe?), and then (hopefully) play in the second round. Although I have to admit, finally getting an SEC team of the stature of an Alabama to play at Autzen would be priceless since those teams (Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU) will NEVER schedule an away game at Autzen Stadium. (Not true of other SEC teams like Tennessee and MSU which did schedule home and away games in the recent past.)

Sure, Oregon could still get locked out of the CFPs with a Michigan win and a loss to the Huskies, but I think we are in a fairly solid position having beaten a strong, ranked USC team by 15 points, which is more than the spread was for this game.

I think you have to give SC’s ST some of the credit for that 15 point differential. LOL!
