      I’ll start.

Your Trojan WRs give me NIGHTMARES.  I can definitely see Oregon losing this one on that aspect alone as I don’t like the match up one bit:  Strength (USC Passing) vs Strength (Oregon secondary) is a paper tiger (paper duck?).

Oregon’s #1 secondary has not seen ANYTHING like Lane, Lemon or Maiava.  We lost to Indiana, the only other really good passing team we’ve faced (shut down #2 B1G passing offense Rutgers, but, hey – that was Rutgers).  We are a young secondary who I expect to get abused by CLR and Maiava.  Will Oregon have enough offensive firepower to keep up with USC?  Not sure, but take the over.  And take USC + points.

Caught a bit of your game vs Iowa, and Lester Hayes has nothing on your WRs.  Flypaper is a better word for what your guys must be using to hold onto the ball – and in the wet!

Anyway, I remain skeptical my quacks can overcome your WRs.  The biggest test for this young Oregon squad so far this season.  Luckily it’s at home, although oddly Oregon has actually played better on the road this year (holds the current regular season away game win streak of 11 games, tOSU is 2nd at 6 games).

Not down on Oregon at all, Oregon is playing better in some respects than in the first few games of the season.  Just very concerned because I don’t think our strength in a pivotal position is as much of a strength as USC’s is….

It’s at Oregon.  Ducks win and they’re headed to the playoff.  Oregon schedule is a bit suspect.  Both teams have played Iowa.  Moore went 13-21 with no td and a pick.  112 yards.  Tells me they don’t trust him

he implodes they lose.  But he’s playing at home so I don’t expect him to.

USC is a year away and trending in the right direction.  I think the idea Oregon is going to physically bully USC as we expected a month ago needs to be rethought.  USC played Iowa as physical as Oregon did.  In really bad conditions.

I think Oregon’s talent and depth is better.  I think the environment will help uo.  Nothing says college football like a bunch of meth addicts riding Harley’s into a stadium

I think this is the best offense USC has faced in 2-3 years.  And the price UsC pays for Iowa is they lost a first round pick in Kamari Ramsey at strong safety and a Thorpe award finalist in bishop Fitzgerald.  I think Oregon exploits that lack of depth there repeatedly.

I think the noise and conditions fluster USC and lanning snorts a few lines and hops around psyching his team up.

42-17 is a number that keep thinking of.

the longer the game goes competitive  the more it favors USC.  UO should win.  Has to win. Their season falls apart if they don’t.  Unfair. I am disappointed they lost to IU.  I have thought they’re the best team in the country the last few years.  You can’t keep being on that edge.  You either get to the top or slip back to the pack.  UO needs this win.

there is already a feeling that UO west coast dominance is ending.  Recruiting is balancing out. USC is improving.  Closing the gap.  8-2 versus 9-1. With the class USC has coming in I think Oregon needs to hold them off one more year.   USC wins and with their upcoming class there will be a palpable feeling that the power has shifted.   I just think we are still a year or two away from that happening

        Interesting perspective, Java.

And yes, football, like life, is cyclical.  I’d like to think Oregon’s competitive shelf-life as a west coast power isn’t waning currently, but who knows?

USC has always been the sleeping giant.  Always.  But under Lanning I don’t think Oregon is going into hibernation anytime soon.

Besides there’s usually been room for more than 1 dominant west coast power (thinking UCLA, Washington, USC back in the ’70s-early ’90s).

Pending who Penn State hires, I think it’s going to remain tOSU/Michigan/USC/Oregon at the top of the B1G more seasons than not going forward.

Come on LAD, you guys  have a way more talented roster than USC. And yet another game in Autzen in the series.Your secondary in the most talented one we will face this year. Bear, Pregnant Man, Bryant and all the MD kids will be ready. Ducks are 9 point favorites and it should be more. Looks like both our Safeties are out, our starting RB’s are out. USC is not particularly good at ANY aspect of defense but if we can focus on stopping the run we have a chance to keep it close. That strategy should propel Dante Moore into the Heisman convo. You guys won too many recruiting battles against us before this year. That’s going to show up Saturday.
The only way we win is if the matchup includes an algebra quiz and some 4th grade astronomy questions.

In other words, hell yeah we are going to pull off this upset. If Indiana can beat you so can USC. Let’s gooo.

The power of positive thinking, BB!

BTW Bryant is injured, otherwise he’d be very up for this game against his former team, I’m sure.

C’mon, you Men of Troy know this better than any fanbase outside of TAMU:  roster quality doesn’t = success, although it doesn’t hurt.

I think you Trojans will be plenty motivated for the upset…..I still remember 2011 all too well….lol!

Oregon wins, 38-30.  Big advantage for Oregon, it’s a home game.  USC has a ton of key players injured and out.  Dante Moore is a Top 8 QB in nation.

since the turn of the century , it seems like most of the games are at the shithole Whoragon.  why is that?

I see a shootout LA. SC lost its LT to injury in the Iowa game and both its starting safeties. Couple that with all the freshmen and sophomores on our D and that spells trouble, but they are all talented. At one point we had Abide(SO), Boucard(FR), Stewart(FR), and Crawford(SO) in the game as the DL. At the same time we had Walker(FR), Stephens(SO) at LB along with Gentry(SR). When we lost our two safeties, we had Pierce(Jr) and Urlacher(SO) as our safeties. Our corners were Nicholson(SR) and Conley/Williams(FR). That is 8 sophomores/freshmen on D at one point, so that is our weakness, though these young men are talented but lack the experience reps bring.

On offense, we lost our starting LT Paige, and I don’t know about J’Onre Reed at Center, who is 40lbs heavier than O’Connor, who will start at Center.

My biggest worry is Maiava in away games, where he has been a headcase. If he plays to his abilities, you are in for a helluva game.

I expect it to be a helluva game, GTrojan no matter what.

        And I’d MUCH rather have your offense in a shoot-out than Oregon’s run-based offense….  Mark my words….

lol….very true.  Does sound a bit like coach-speak.

But your WRs do scare the cr@p outta me.  And Maiava doesn’t lead QBR rankings for nothin’….

I’d call this at best 3 point advantage for Oregon meaning it’s a pick ’em on a neutral turf.

Plus I know how much CLR really wants this one.  So he should be holding a very full bag o’ tricks Saturday afternoon.

Call him “Sneaky Link”…maybe the whole USC football team will show up wearing #80 as long as it’s listed on the roster?  🙂
