Makai lemon 10 of USCs 23 receptions.  158 yards.  He was 10 of 10 on targets.  4 of 4 on contested 50-50 type balls.  A perfect passer rating is 158 and when they threw to lemon it was 152.  That’s unreal in that rain against that defense and with those field conditions.  Lemon was the mvp.  The best player on the field for both teams and without him USC loses by double digits.   I didn’t really see “how” good he was until next day reviews.

this week Oregon has all the pressure on them.  Their best win of the year is probably at Iowa.    Not much else on their resume.   Lose and they’re out of the playoff as USC will steal their lunch.  USC isn’t really expected to win.  They are arriving about a year early in terms of being a playoff contender.  So Oregon best not choke

I still expect UO to win as they are more established and home.  But USC continues to pass Every b10 test.  Road wins.  Toughness.  2nd half adjustments.  Finishing well.  Running the ball. Playing good defense.  Playing in bad weather.

Cant say all those things about USC a year or two ago. But here we are in 2025 and clearly they have made Tremendous strides

trending arrow for this program is up.    I expect USC will fall flat next week. Bounce back to beat ucla.  Bring in the top recruiting class and only lose one 4 star out of it.

I think they’ll hit the portal lightly or not at all.   And I think they will open the season next year in the top 10 if Maiava returns   Lane too.

i think 4 players from this incoming recruiting class will be starting by mid season next year and 10 of them will be on the 2 deep.   Of the 34 guys coming in I think 15 will play and 19 will redshirt.  Obviously some will leave but that is both a massive number of guys who will play early and a massive stockpile of redshirts to build for the future.  This is two recruiting classes in one

Oregon did not score 21 on Iowa.  Indiana did not score 21 on Iowa.  Meaning Iowa scores 21 on those teams and they win. Always.

Iowa was something like 85-4 when leading at halftime the last 10 years and had not given up a double digit lead since 2020.

Dante  Moore?   Threw for 112 against Iowa.  13-21.  They didn’t trust him.  No td passes and one pick.    I expect Moore to step up at home but he’s very capable of choking and imploding.

Iowa would be 9-0 this year if they scored 21 in every game.  People around the big ten noticed.  Noticed UsC won the most hard hitting game of the cfb weekend.   Noticed they won in awful weather.  Noticed they came from behind against a team you don’t come from behind on.  And noticed that they put up 25 and dominated the 4th quarter against a very very physical mature experienced team

Iowa passed for 25 yards.  0 td and a pick in the second half.  Gronowski was a complete mess. Shut out.    Maiava passed for 153.  And two td. One fg in that second half.
