Losers here don’t see improvement because they’ve never coached.  Never played.  Never run anything.  They just watch TV.

USC gave up 6 points in the 2nd half against Michigan.  Who hasn’t lost since btw.

USC gave up 3 points in the 2nd half against Nebraska on the road.

USC gave up 3 points in the 2nd half against northwestern last week.  Good hard nosed team that lost to Michigan today on a walk off fg

USC shut out Iowa in the 2nd half today.

I see a pattern here.  Other than losers quitting on their team when the game the single game isn’t even over.

imagine if these life failures had gone to Oregon state in the 80s.  Kansas state in the 70s.  Probably would have committed suicide.  Too bad for us

Anthony Lucas especially in that second half.  Had his finest game as a Trojan

USC can not  be a 2nd half D, it’s not good FB.  It takes too much energy fighting and rallying back down 14 to 17 pts. They got to play D like the Michigan game and out physical the other team all 4 qts.  Dat’s how Top 10 teams play

Bad sheet, Iowa pushed USC around in the 1st half.  The sport media, coaches, CFP polls people will take that into account when next week voting comes out.  I think, they do not favor for come back type games…  Cheers

So you’re complaining about their defensive performances against the teams I named?

atm gave up 30 today to a 3-6 team.  Texas gave up 35?

USC has improved dramatically on defense.  It’s why they are 8-2 right now

No, U’re right about the other teams.  My take is all about USC.  I did not like how Iowa pushed them around 1st half.  LB’s & DB’s played soft = missed tackles, out of position, giving up big plays, got blocked hard, blowed coverage.  Yeah, I kinda disappointed with DC. DA Lynn and his AC dis year.  If he corrected stuff early on, USC = 9-1 right now.  The 2 losses is on the D all da way.

It’s good dat they fight back in the 2nd half, but dat’s not good FB and very risky.  Dat type of FB waste too much energy.  Plus, it puts too much pressure on da O to score pts and rally.  Top 10 teams do not play like dat.  Looks like U’re OK with our D, Kool Brah.  I’m not and feel DC. DA Lynn has done a poor job with the D.  If he had a top 18 to 20 ranked D, allowing only 14 pts a game, shoot USC would be 10-0…  Cheers

        USC is ranked # 50 in nation = 347 ypg, #43 = 21.78 pts pg.

PS.  Guaranty the media people, coaches dat vote in polls see dat.  Dat’s why USC get ream in da polls.  In fact, I’v seen and read many criticism about USC D being soft and too many blown coverages.  I have not seen or read anyone saying good things about USC D.   So, I’m not a minority in my views about our D.

21 points a game?   Considering that includes a ko return for a td they didn’t give up and a few turnovers by the offense that set up td.  I’d say so.  That’s a massive improvement.

id like to see them improve their run defense.  But look where they were previously.  They have a lot of youth.  They are a much better d than they were 2-3 years ago.

id like to see everything improve.  But you dont show up and have a top 10 defense in a year or two.  The schools you named have been stockpiling talent and playing the same scheme for years

USc offense has been weak in the b10.  25 pts yesterday.   21 v Nebraska.  24 versus nd.   33 v awful Purdue.   Continual failures to get 7 and getting 3 instead?  Turnovers?  Oh and how many touchdowns or huge plays have come back due to illegal centers downfield?   O Connor had another yesterday.  Offense failures continue

their offense ranks 6th in the nation and 10th in scoring. Pretty awesome right?  38.3 points a game?  Take away their two division 2 cream puffs where they scored 132 points and they’ve only topped that once.    In fact they have averaged 31.3 points a game despite the defense having about 3 of those points on pick 6s.  The 31.3 points a game ranks them 48th.

that puts a defense in terrible position.

I’ll  help.  If the offense scores 35+ it’s done its job.  If the defense holds the other team to less than 30 it’s done its job.  25 or less is good and 20 or less is awesome.  On the offensive side 35 points a game is only top 20 so I’m not being overly demanding for Riley’s rep here.

against Notre dame despite USC turnovers the d held nd to 27. On the road.  The nd qb didn’t throw for anything.  Illinois was their bad game this year.  Couldn’t stop them.  Bad games happen. Defense is not a finished product.

I think the problem w usc is the offense.  I think they turn the ball over too much.  I think other than lemon their wr have been weak.  And I think they still can’t win short yardage situations.  Which alters play calling dramatically on 3-4th down and in the red zone.

btw I say all this at 8-2 with a young team and a great recruiting class.  It takes years to hold a program and get the players in place. USC tried to do it fast and after one year of portal transfers I was here saying that’s it.  You can do it for one year but you can’t build a program like that.   Sure enough they tried it 2-3 times and it cost them.  Chad Bowen comes in and decides USC gonna build with hs talent.   And that takes time

so USC the last year or two has started over.  New DC.  New DL coach. New recruiting strategy.  Renewed commitment to ca.  problem is by the time they did this Riley is in year 3 and they’re laying eggs on the field. Natives restless.

what they are doing this year should have been what year 2 or 3 looks like.  The whole Caleb Williams and Oregon running back dye and Addison from Pitt thing was instant happy candy but rotted the teeth.   All of that set USC back a year or two. This is year 4 and what it should have looked like in year 2-3

and as a side note.  All of that masked what lemon was. I was screaming in 2023 that he should be playing.  Those idiots had him at corner most of the year.  Completely wasted him.  I said early on he was Pakua nua. That would have made a huge difference.  Everyone else was in love with branch and duce. Both of whom were 💩   Lemon 🍋 was the man and it took all the way to the bowl game to prove it.  So frustrating

As of yesterday FB games.  NCAA team stats.

Bruddah Java, compare where USC falls in D stats, do you still feel our D is OK?

      Top 10 D’s.  #1 Ohio St, 211 ypg, #3 Oregon 239 ypg, #4 Iowa 250 ypg, #5 Indiana 237 ypg, #7 OU 264 ypg, #9 Texas Tech, 270 ypg.  USC # 50 347 ypg.

      Top 10 scoring D.  #1 Ohio St, 7.22 pts pg, #2 Indiana 12.10 pts pg, # 3 Texas Tech, 12.60 pts pg, #7 Oregon 13.78 pts pg, #8 OU 14.10 pts pg, #9 Utah 14.22 pts pg, #10 Miami 15 pts pg.   USC #43 21.78 pts pg.

PS.  USC O is a close #2 = 503 yds pg.  Scoring: USC O is #7 = 39.6 pts pg.  Shoot if our D was at least top 18-20 in nation, allowing 14 pts per game, we would be undefeated at 10-0
