SS CIF Football Playoffs Brackets.
11-07-25
D-1. Sierra Canyon vs Santa Margarita. Wow, SC should pull out a close W
Mater Dei vs Mission Viejo, Another big game, Mater Dei is not the dominate team this year. Mission Viejo has a very good team. But, I think MD pulls out a close W.
D-4. Oaks Christians vs St Bonaventure. Big rival game. Sad both teams were D-2 powers.
D-6. Crespi was once a D-1 power, Moorpark D-2 power
D-7. Hart was once a D-2 & D-3 power. Eh, Java your Apply Valley is D-7,
Shaka.D-8. Quartz Hill, once a D-1 and D-2 power.
D-9. Warren, once a D-5 power
D-10. Santa Monica once a D-2 power
D-11. Palmdale, once a D-3 power
D-12. Fontana, once a D-1 power
D-14. AB Miller, once a D-2 & D-3 power

11-14-25
1. Mater Dei, 8-2 #6 N, #3 Ca, home field (W) vs Mission Viejo, 9-2, #29 N, #6 Ca, 20-0. Saw the game on TV, conditions were bad, wet, rainy. Bad day for QB’s and passing game. MD won the game because they ran well, D played a great game, stuffing Mission Viejo run game and gave MV QB and Wr’s fits. MD team speed was another factor. Oh, M. Bowman played both ways, quiet on O but a Force on D. He was all over da field stuffing RB’s and 2 QB sacks. I’m wondering if USC would play him both ways?
Mater Dei, rushing = 210 yds, 3 TD’s, pass = 64 yds, total O 274 yds. QB Hopkins had a poor game, 4/14 29%, 64 yds. Hopkins was off in his passing mechanics; he threw too hard. Wr’s dropped 4 in your hands passes because passes had too much zip in those wet conditions.
Mission Viejo, passing 101 yds, rushing 59 yds = 160 T yds.. Next week, semi finals, MD plays Centennial for their rubber match. MD lost a close game due to 8 TO. I think MD will win next week.
2. St John Bosco, home field, 10-1 #4 N, #1 Ca (L) vs OLu, Orange Lutheran, 3-8, #15 Ca, #70 N, 19-20, Big Upset. OLu had to forfeit 2 pre-season wins or their record would be 5-6. How rain and wet conditions can FU things, SJB crushed Olu 48-0, 4 weeks ago. SJB scored a TD late in 4th qt, making the score 20-19, Olu. SJB went for the 2pt conversion to win the game, but failed.
SJB stats, P = 10/22, 71 yds, 1 TD, R = 35, 208 yds, 2 TD = 279 T yds
OLu stats, P = 6/11, 105 yds, 2 TD, R = 35, 153 yds, 1 TD = 258 T yds3. Sierra Canyon, home field #7 N, # 4 Ca (L) vs Santa Margarita, # 12 N, # 5 Ca, 9-21. Mild upset, nah they were close in talent. But, SC dominated teams all season. I had predicted SC to win da a close game. This is SC best team since becoming a power in da SS CIF. Again, rain and wet conditions must have played a huge factor in their loss.
4. Centennial, home field, # 5 N, # 2 C (W) vs Servite, #65 N, #12 Ca, 41-6. Not surprised by score. Next week Cent plays Mater Dei in da semi finals and had better bring their A game. MD has been playing Xlent FB lately.

Participant11-21-25 SS CIF, Semi Finals.
To see other game scores and results, just scroll up to the OP and click on the brackets link. You will find the various game results.
1. Mater Dei, #5N, #2 Ca (L) vs Centennial-Corona, home field, #4 N, #1 Ca, 27-28
It was a hard fought game between 2 SS CIF FB power houses. Lead changed hands several times. Both teams had an A+ offensive night with the D playing well. But, Centennial had the home field advantage. In 9-12-25 when Cent beat MD 43-36 they had the home field advantage too. MD had 8 TO’s which contributed to the loss.
With 1:35 left, 4th Qt, MD had a 27-21 lead. Cent scored a TD via pass and converted the xtra pt making it 28-27 Cent lead. Upon the KO, MD drove to the 20 yd line, but QB Hopkins got sack 9 yds by holding onto the ball too long. With 6 seconds left, MD attempted a FG but it was blocked. The Cent player jumped the count (off sides) and the Ref’s did not call the off sides penalty. HS do not have replays. End of game and the upset.
I still think and feel MD is the better team. Shoot even with Cent playing at home, they could not put away MD and almost loss da game. Weird to not see a Mater Dei or SJB represent the SS CIF in the State CIF Championship Open game. I think Santa Margarita wins vs Centennial next week and will go onto the State Championship game.
De La Salle (W) vs Pittsburg, 24-17 and will represent the NS CIF in the Open spot. I think they will play Santa Margarita Catholic for the Open title, 12-13-25 at Buena Park HS stadium. You watch, Pittsburg will play in the D-2 State game, which is BS. If dat’s the case, then the loser between SMC and Cent game should play Pittsburg in the D-2 which is more than fair.
2. Santa Margarita Catholic, #7 N (W) vs OLu, Orange Lutherian, #19N, #6 Ca, 31-6. SMC Wr, USC bound, Trent Mosley had a very good night, 5 rec, 93 yds, 2 TD’s. SMC will beat Cent next week and go on to meet/play De LaSalle on 12-13-25 for the State CIF crown.
