KeymasterAnd changes. Dodgers have some guys getting older and contracts expiring. Let’s look and see.
max Muncy. 3b. La has an option on him for 2026 at $13 million. They have Alex freeland behind him. Injuries are starting to add up. Don’t be surprised if Muncy isn’t back
catcher Backup Dodgers need to start protecting an aging smith and Rortevedt is a lefty Good start but he’s 29 next year If they have him under contract I’ll guess he’s traded Or let go Dalton rushing should be the guy and hopefully does better as a lefty balance to smith than we saw the last half of 2025
left field Bad as he is in right you have to put two back here He’s really hurt la repeatedly in right And left field has been a black hole
center field Andy pages was good regular season and made Michael Conforto look good in the playoffs His daily place in the playoff lineup causes one to question the sanity of Roberts I think la needs to consider a platoon alternative for pages in cf
tommy edman went back to being the Tommy edman that St. Louis thought he was this year Light hitting utility guy who gets injured a lot la has him signed
kim Lefty Have to find a place for him on the field I give him the 2b job and leave him alone La is notorious for jerking around young players and they’re doing their best to destroy this guy If I am him I go back to Korea f this
right field la has a couple prospects or they can spend money on a fa Conforto was a bargain option and failed Really has contributed to their problems in the post season He’s meant kike has to play daily and kike is not a regular
kike He’s gone I know Sacrilege to say His numbers have dropped the last few years and he’s a role guy areas Kim and edman have covered Like is a sucker for breaking pitches and has moved his stance off the plate Meaning he can’t get outside coverage These days he can hit fastballs belt high middle in Just like the rest of us washed up wannabes He’s done
Freddie freeman isn’t going anywhere but at 36-37 best year they better have a succession plan
miguel Rojas is retiring
conforto has a one year deal Gone so la will be replacing Rojas Conforto probably kike at a minimum
teoscar is a deal they can’t escape so they’re stuck big swing big power Middle average Low obp And bad defense He owes his fortunes to good timing
pitching Their starting rotation will stay in tact and guys like River Ryan Sheehan Gavin stone Tony Gonsolin will come back from their arm injuries to fill gaps like Kershaw did this year Romie Sasaki will replace Kershaw at the 6th starter
Kershaw is gone Kirby Yates was a one year deal He’s gone Blake Treinan and tanner Scott have 1 and 2 years left on what look like bad deals I expect we will continue to see bullpen by committee
trade bait
Bobby miller
Ben Casperius
Emmet Sheehan
Justin wrobleski
all young arms with high value except miller They may let him walk The others need to find a defined role or be currency like Dustin May was as valuable young arms to go get help in right field 3rd base
in the end the failure of these dodgers If you can call losing a World Series a failure And I don’t Is that they are not a good outfield defensive team Anymore They are aging Their bullpen need a rebuild They thought they had 3 closers in Yates Treinan and Scott They assumed the other two would solidify the 7th and or 8th and all those other guys Banda vesia henriquez Graterol would lock down the 6th and 7th A bullpen for the ages All 3 closers bombed catastrophically and it wrecked the whole middle innings plan due to exposure and overuse Clearly they need to solidify the back end and I think the arms they have if so Can settle into the 6-8 innings
are the problems fixable? They are You only get so many shots of history. He only gets so many shots at the World Series. It’s frustrating that the shot was wasted. The Dodgers strategy of loafing through the season and then putting it all together at the end works well or worked well for the starting pitching. Ensuring that they had all of their arms, healthy for the postseason. But in retrospect, looking at that strategy as a relates to the bullpen their defense and they’re hitting it looks like woeful neglect

KeymasterSo let’s look at salaries LA will be saving this year and $ to spend on existing players or buying more
Kershaw. $18 million. May have been more after bonuses
Conforto. $17 million
Muncy. $13 millionYates. $13 million
the following are my estimates.
Rojas. $4 milKike. $4 mil
austin Barnes. $3 mil.
thats $72 million. I think someone else is dropping off the books or was hurt or traded but I can’t recall. It was $6 million
either way. LA imo is going to have about $72 million to spend. I think they’ll get a solid 3b and RF for $24 million each. And go find two bullpen guys for $12 million each.
salary cap hit and penalty will be less as they might go cheaper. Or the cap will go up as it usually does
