      UCLA, 3-5, ( L ) vs Indiana, # 2, 8-0, 6-56

Dang, UCLA got crushed, a big time whopping yesterday.  Hell it was a shellacking.  OC Jerry Neuheisel magic was no where to be found.  UCLA T O, pass 113 yds, rush 88 yds = 201 yds.  I believe it was not about their poor O production, but Indiana’s tuff, top 5 D.  I think Indiana beats Ohio St in the B1G championship game.  Indiana is for real.  They have a top 7 offense and top 5 defense.  Indiana has no weakness.  Most of all are coached well.

QB Mendoza had another solid game: 15/22, 68%, 169 yds, 3 TD, 168 QBR, A- grade.  Indiana rush for 46 times = 263 yds, 68%, passing 32%.  I think if Indiana is the B1G champ, Mendoza wins the Heisman.

PS.  Nico I, 13/27 48%, 113 yds, 0 TD, 1 IT, 68 QBR, F grade!  Pasadena do you still think  Nico I is a top QB?  Joey Aguilar, Tennessee, 20/26, 77%, 396 yds, 3TD’s, 243 QBR.  No question UCLA missed out on Aguilar.  Tennessee is the big winner in the Nico I vs Aguilar TP saga.

You had to know Indiana’s defense was stout by the way they went into Autzen and shutdown Oregon. When has that ever happened?

Yes Ucla got their ass kicked but I disagree with you about Nico, he’s still really talented despite yesterday and keep in mind just a Soph. He can make any pass, has great running ability for 6-6 and always puts his head down never sliding.

Jerry N. never had any magic to begin with, he just utilized more of his receivers than Sunseri. Now opposing coordinators have game film on what he likes to run and they’re making the adjustments. You saw it in the Maryland game the week before. BTW you shorted UCLA a win.

Bruddah RWC sorry about UCLA record.  I corrected it.  Not really slamming Nico, I know he is a pretty good QB.  I’ve watched him many times at Warren HS.  I put up his stats for Pasadena, so that he may rethink things.  He wrote, maybe Nico is top 2 QB in nation.  As of yesterday game, Nico is ranked # 83 out of 114 QB’s in the NCAA QBR.  Dat’s pretty bad rankings.  OK, I just do not like him and his father for theri antics at Tennessee.

Be truthful, who’s the better QB, Nico I or Joey Aguilar, Tennessee.  Most of all do you think Aguilar would have done a better job at UCLA vs Nice I.?

Who’s the better QB Nico or Joey Aguilar? >

Based on this season obviously you go with Joey, but you’re also comparing a QB playing his sixth year of college ball compared to someone who is in his second season. Potentially Nico is better IMO.

Do I think Joey would have done a better job at UCLA vs Nico? >

Doubt it because he would still have to play behind the same O-line, and they are still trying to get on the same page. Just not the 5 fingers on a hand yet.

10-26-25, updated NCAA stats.  124 schools/teams.  Maiava is being disrespected by the media for hardly getting mention in many top 10 Heisman candidates.  Out of the 10 projections I saw, Maiava is mentioned only 3 times, 7 to 10 rankings.  BS.  Maiava is top 5 in my book.

        USC, Jayden Maiava, # 5/124, QBR 173.53, passing 2180 yds, 7 games, # 3 ypg 311.4 yds,  69% completion, 16 TD.

For you UCLA honks, see and compare.  So who’s the better QB?  Note.  Nico was a 5* HS rated, # 3 in country with Mucho offers, vs Joey was a 2* HS rankings with zero college offers.  Joey ended up in JC and after 2 yrs was the # 2 ranked JC QB.  Nico is 6-6, 215 lbs, Joey is 6-3 220 lbs, both are big QB’s.  Both have strong arms, and athletic (can run well) but Joey is way better over all passer, accuracy and long ball touch.  Joey made a lot of coaches look stupid for not recruiting him.  His HS, Freedom HS, Brentwood, Ca was a high ranking D-8, CIF FB team  What a success story.

        UCLA, Nico Iamaleava, # 99/124, QBR 124.06, passing yds- 1468 yds, 8 games # 91 ypg, 183.5 yds, 63% completion, 10 TD

        Tennessee, Joey Aguilar, # 14/124, QBR 162.82, passing yds 2344, 8 games # 8 ypg 293 yds, 66% completion, 18 TD

Good thoughts here. Also makes a lot of sense about teams the tape being out on Neuheisel jr.

I still believe in Nico. That combo of height, arm strength and quicks is a rare combo. Maybe he is top 2 most physically gifted QB in a nation?  Maybe that’s what I’m over valuing.
he is a guy who can be accurate on very tough passes and inaccurate on some others. Idk maybe his weakness is accuracy? He was not great yesterday and really bad on 3rd down. Also a big issue. Yeah he didn’t look like number 2 QB in country yesterday based on a normal year. This year is a really down year for QBs. Like Tua being a very high pick bad. He will benefit from that.

idk. I wasn’t blown away by Mendoza yesterday. I was sort of impressed. But not blown away. I will watch him more.
My one game observation comp is Jimmy G.

I was impressed by Indiana coaching. Obviously Stunts on DL worked well. Tackled well on D. Few penalties. Very impressive team.
