If you’re in the game at ND at half you’re doing ok.

if you told me at the beginning of the game that USC would not be able to run. That lemon would have two receptions for 28 yards. And that USC could not stop the run and that it would be 14 to 13 I would absolutely take that.

the biggest play of the first half was Notre Dame driving to go ahead by 11 and the freshman quarterback, having a massive brain fart and throwing an interception in the red zone and USC responding by marching down the field for a field goal

I think that some of the stuff that Notre Dame is selling out to do USC can take advantage of in the second half.

so they know on short yardage that USC will run that little tight end screen. So I think USC needs to show that and then do something else.

I liked the idea of having the quarterback run, but not on a substitution play. Maiava needs to run a few.

not sure the solution to stopping nd run game. but appears they are stunting and twisting their linebackers, which is helping

It’s very clear that Notre Dame feels like they may as well assault the USC receivers all the way down the field, and dare the referees to throw the flag. Because most of the time they won’t.  They’ll keep that up.  USC got two passing interference calls in their favor, but only on the most egregious  plays.

Considering that Notre Dame still controls both lines, I don’t like USC’s chances here. On the other hand, the longer a underdog stays in the game on the road the more the home team starts believing that something might go wrong

3 q opening drive was about as perfect for nd as it gets.  Grind it.  Run.  Dominate.  Eat clock.  Score 7.

      21-13
