ParticipantNames coming up the most at the moment, starting with the most likely to get the job:
Tony White, DC Free Shoes U, Would definitely take the job if offered
Brett Brennan HC Zona, Played at UCLA, rumored to have interest
Will Stein Oregon OC apparently will be a hot name this hiring season in college football
PJ Fleck HC Minnesota, Credible unnamed sources insist he is on the list of candidates and has interest.
Matt Entz, HC Fresno State, if UCLA misses on their higher choices
Matt Campbell, HC, Iowa State. This guy just comes up for a lot of jobs. Doubt this one.
Jedd Fisch, HC Washington, his family hates Seattle. Word is he has interest. His buyout drops from $10mill to $6mill in January 2026. Not terribly high as buyouts go.
Fisch or Fleck would be good hires in my opinion.

ParticipantBrennan: an alum just donated $50mm to the athletic dept. if they go 8-4 maybe 9 with a bowl game, he’s getting paid. 5-7 he’ll he around for another year. I’m more worried about the DC getting hired away at this point.
Fisch: yeah i’ve joked about it but i could see it. I’m sure wasserman can pony up the money for the buyout and salary. And jedd is a mercenary.
but the real question is who would want to coach that mess? It’s going to take years to turn that program if even possible

Participantbut the real question is who would want to coach that mess?
But so many here think Fisch would leave a great situation at UW to ‘coach that mess in UCLA’. That is pretty funny…

ParticipantAlmost every Jewish person I know is a UCLA fan/alum. Still hasn’t helped the Bruins.
I have no idea why Fisch would be interested in the UCLA job but apparently he is open to talking. Could be that he is trying to be nice to people he knows in Westwood. Having said that, I think the Bruins can bounce back with the right hire.

ParticipantIt will be Tony White. It’s probably already done behind the scenes just have to wait until the season is over for him to announce. UCLA is a poverty program right now, both in available funding and in the perception amongst college football that it has the desire to actually support a football program properly in today’s landscape.

ParticipantThere is the ‘his family hates Seattle’ stuff again. They don’t but after moving 10 times in the previous 15 years, they only want to finish high school with the friends they made while in Tucson. Like with recruits, weather is very low on the priority list. So many top shelf recruits choose to go to these ‘northern’ schools.
Fisch isn’t going to take another college job. If he has success, he will go to the NFL Why would he take a ‘step down’ to go to UCLA? Oh yeah…the weather. Laughable. If the NFL has their sights on Fisch, do you think he would turn it down if offered to coach in Chicago, Green Bay, New England, etc. because of the weather?
