      Not a fan

on one of the 4th down plays and conversions LW was downfield 15 yards

remember Wafle guarding the RB 15 yards down sideline against Rutgers. He made the play but just weird coverage

love the complex schemes angle but

      1) there has to be results and it has to be effective

      it’s just not happening. Anywhere

I am hoping that the complexity resulted in earlier miscommunications and the kids are starting to get it.

People say he’s a genius. Brilliant. We saw early on some big time blown coverages. Hope is that as the year goes on those are corrected. Because iu and Ohio state will make them pay

There’s a couple reasons for dropping the edge into coverage.

It can cause confusion for the QB just before the snap as to the coverage if the edge drops into the short zone.

Leaves a O-lineman with no one to block disrupting the blocking scheme and a secondary defender or one of the DL’s rushes in unblocked for the sack. Just what your DC is hoping for. A big guy like Waffle can cause some problems stepping into the passing lanes on the short routes. Of course it doesn’t necessarily always work.

This is a whole new defensive system.

and lots of young players to learn it

i see a lot of improvement the last two games

only 13 points given up combined in the second half of the last two games

and also scored a defensive td

patterson didn’t get stupid all of a sudden

Hopefully we will continue to get better
