He might  be a good option if Riley bolts for a Texas job. Baylor will be opening up in the next few months. I assume Chesney is interested in a big boy job. And big boy money.

No way he bounces to SC after one or two years, mho.

Well, he needs to pay his dues at a lower level school. So 2 years might be a good amount of time for him to prove himself.

He won’t bounce after one year like D’Anton Lynn.  Maybe after two, but I don’t think the SC job will be open then.

UCLA still has a lot of unanswered questions, some of which might affect Chesney’s desire to make UCLA his destination school.   Who will be the new AD, for example?  Will the school solve its money problems or will it be forced to rely 100% on boosters for financial support?  Where are they going to play their games (I haven’t been following the saga over the Rose Bowl lease; what’s happening with that?)  Can they win once classes start?

Mora showed that if they win for a couple years and beat SC they can draw nice crowds to the Rose Bowl.  That would help with the money.

I never disagreed with you before Gator and after Saturday I still won’t disagree with you. You’re a gentleman.

i was just throwing some bait at our suddenly engaged Bruin fans.

They’re saucy all of a sudden.

They bit of course. Riley is not going anywhere. Cheers!

Maybe suggest if Chesney is interested in a Blue Blood job down the line he should spend a couple years at someplace like Missouri State after UCLA.

Mora’s problem was Stanford he could not beat them. The road to the Rose Bowl was through Stanford and Oregon and he was unable to get it done. He easily beat the other teams but not the boys from the North.

LOL! Dream on, BB! He already paid his dues at 3 lower level schools.

Don’t get nervous Atl. Chesney needs to pay his dues and work his way up to USC. We aren’t hiring him based on 4 games or even 12 games.  But sleep with one eye open.

There are levels Atl. Chesney hasn’t hit the top level of college football jobs. But he is getting close. He might need to go to Oklahoma first then USC might look at him.

Chesney going to USC would just be a lateral move so you’re going to have to look somewhere else.

Why would he want to slum it?  I guess if his life’s goal is to be hounded by CSUN graduates who want to follow a college football team and think that they have a birthright to national championships because they bought a fight on shirt at Kohls he would be interested in making such a move.  But I doubt it.
