  interview:

Coach Riley is the best play caller in college football. He is also the best quarterback coach in the country. He’s coached Kyler Murray, Caleb Williams, Baker Mayfield… all of those guys — first-round picks and two Heisman winners. No one else offers that in college football right now.

“Coach Riley is so smart and his scheme is so good. My thing is, I want to be coached by a coach who has coached guys like me. Kyler Murray, Caleb Williams and Baker Mayfield have a similar play style.

“One thing coach Riley said was that I can be better than Kyler Murray if I let him coach me. That right there… that’s probably the biggest compliment I’ve ever gotten. Kyler Murray in college was a Heisman winner, first pick of the draft. Caleb Williams as well. If he says I can be better than a former Heisman winner, yeah. That’s when I knew I need to go play for coach Riley.

“I feel like, me and coach Riley, when I get to USC, we’re going to make something shake. That’s what coach Riley said too. We’re going to be a problem for college football. I just can’t wait to get up there to play for coach Riley and coach Huard. The offensive scheme and minds around the program — that’s where I want to be.”

He’s what. A junior? He’s got a long way to go to get there. Rest of this year. All next year. Then probably sits as a freshman.

so that’s great. We will see if Riley and huard are still here in 2029. That will likely be up to this years recruit. Jonas Williams.

what’s interesting to me is that Maiava has become much more pocket based and much less mobile. similar to Caleb actually. I think a lot of these guys want long careers and obviously don’t enjoy pain so they purposefully try to become pocket based as much as possible

we will see what Jonas Williams looks like when he has the job full-time, whether he truly sprints out and is as mobile is what we have seen but it would appear that he moves around more than Maiava.

and this kid takes it to another level at least in high school. I think we all have visions of Sam Levitt and Trinidad Chambless we shall see

next year USC has one quarterback, singular Uno. not three not 2. One. and most rosters like carrying three and there’s no one in this recruiting class so I am very curious what strategy they take in the off-season it would certainly appear that they want to bring in a transfer quarterback, but I can’t imagine it would be anybody high profile enough to scare Williams off

Ha. Unless IQ66 wrote those quotes for him, it seems almost impossible that they are real.

  1. The kid is a moron if he actually believes 1/2 of that and it eould be a huge red flag on his brains.

  2. All that kids care about now is the bag. Their agents would never let them spew that pre-NIL drivel.
