Not good. It was unsafe to play that game at that time IMO

      usc used and did neither

and has paid the price in media PR a million fold

Did you go to the game?  That little heat wave we just had was absolutely miserable.  The temperature was bad on its own, but throw in the humidity and it’s just not something we are used to.  I have been to some games in the past where it was hot like that, and vowed to never go again.  If it was a great matchup I would think about it, but sitting there like a hotdog on a roller at 7-11 to watch my team play San Jose State at high noon is not on my list of things that don’t suck.

        Of course I didn’t.

I could see that trainwreck a mile away.

and so did just about everybody else. Well Except the actual decision makers apparently

but they are redeeming themselves this week.  A Friday night game next. With Fresno state. but it’s at least On TV (I Assume) 🤦‍♂️

The Purdue game in, hmmm maybe 96? I’m too lazy to look it up right now. Carson Palmers 1st game, Drew Brees at QB for Purdon’t. I was there. Noon kickoff, hot af. Boomers dropping like flies. People looking for shade under the stands, literally sitting and laying around the concession stand areas. That was worse.
By the way, my boys were there this past Saturday,  teenagers both. They got tix for $9.00 and weren’t gonna miss a USC game. But again, teenagers.

I was at Sun Devil Stadium in 2005, noon game too. 110 if I remember correctly. The game Lendale, Leinart and Reggie led a 2nd half comeback. Stadium ran out of bottled water, boomers in distress. I never wilted and yelled my ass off.  This past Saturday wasn’t horrible but I just wasn’t gonna go thru that for San Jose State. Ohio State, Oregon, Bama, Oklahoma, or any other big team the place would have been packed.

I was at that Purdue game too. I bet humidity that day wasn’t anywhere near it was this week. FWIW

        Hottest games I’ve attended:

Utah State, 1984, right after the Olympics.  Near 110.

The Purdue before-noon kickoff to usher in the Paul Hackett-Carson Palmer Era.

        Western Michigan, 2017.

And the one I was prohibited from attending:

Oklahoma, 1963.  I had a ticket and I was ready to go.  It was the home opener for the defending national champs, #1 v. #3.  My mom forbid me to go because of the heat, which was over 110.

It was 118 degrees on the floor of the Coliseum during that OU game in 1963.

        That’s what I remember hearing.
