Martin Jarmond has been relieved of his duties as the UCLA athletic director today, Bruin Report Online has learned.

Tim Harris, the former Lakers executive who has been conducting an audit of the UCLA athletic department, will take over as CEO and athletic director for the time being.

Jarmond had been UCLA’s athletic director since May of 2020, taking over from Dan Guerrero.

The decision was made by Chancellor Julio Frenk after long deliberations. From what we know, Jarmond’s buyout will be covered by donors.

Let me guess, “financial improprieties” or is it “finger banging the staff like Bohned”?

Odd timing, right before Week 1. Chesney can’t feel too warm and fuzzy, the guy that hired him is now gone.
Let’s see if another shoe drops. UCLA is paying him $6.50 mill to go away just as the season starts?

Something rotten in  Denmark. My kid works at UCLA and has witnessed and heard some Jarmond stories. HR nightmare this Mr Jarmond.

I’m not above spreading nefarious canard but I will leave it at that.

      For now.

Jarmond interviewing for the job at UCLA, “ So how strict are you guys with sexual harassment issues?”

Art V is a leading candidate for the job.

Ny dear BB, Jarmond had no role in hiring Chesney. Jarmond was told to go sit in a corner while the grownups interviewed him and made the hire.
