Bowman screwed up that second drive

  For a kid whose strength is his blocking he just got owned by a 0 star.
  
  And once again usc can’t run for short yardage.
  
  I thought Maiava had his rb in the flat left. Looked at him twice.
  
  looks like USC ran the same play twice from the 9 and San Jose sold out to stop the handoff. Guessed right. I would guess a play action would have had 4 guys open
  
  obviously very impressed w Trent Mosley so far
  
  Christian pierce getting beat on the second play of the game was concerning.
  
  Loved wafle getting double teamed on like his 2nd play of the game and bullying the second guy back into the qb.
  
  not sure if San Jose has the bulk to be evaluating anything here but so far so good for the defense and the punt return was the longest for USC since what. 2024? Maybe before?
  
  im sure Mosley is fast but he doesn’t look it. He looks like he just sees the field very well and picks beautiful routes to run. I’m sure he’s plenty fast too

    bowman handles two guys on the td run nice
    
    overall though 14-0 halfway through the 2Q isn’t too impressive This looks like a Darnold Helton game where USC has huge advantages in yards but not the scoreboard
    
    no complaints about Pattersons defense Not sure if it’s the jimmys and joes or the X’s and O’s but they’ve shit down two drives and bent but didn’t break on the 3rd
    
    gotta say sjsu has really clamped down on the usc run game after the first two drives

  2 poorly thrown balls to Moseley. Trent did a great job corralling one of them. It’s not like I’m totally unfamiliar. I watched him during the playoffs last year and like him a lot. It’s just very different when you see things at actual college speed and so far I love what I’m seeing

  Bowman has blocked better in one half than the last 3 years of TEs under CLR. His predecessors whiffed on a block more then you could count….and brilliant announcers would say “best blocking TE” they have 🤦‍♂️
