      What were the five best/most exciting/most memorable USC games at the Coliseum?

      – The Comeback 1974, 55-24 vs Notre Dame

      Others?

      Off the top of my head

      1967, UCLA.  Will always be #1 on my list.

      1974, Notre Dame.  One-of-a-kind game.

      1981, Oklahoma. #1 v. #2.  Lived up to the hype.

      2004, Cal.  The Aaron Rodgers game with the great defensive stand at the end.

      2005, Fresno State.  Loudest I’ve ever heard the Coliseum.

        I was at three of those 5 games Gator. ‘81, ‘o4, ‘05.

        Just to be different I would add 2017 USC vs Texas ( led by the despicable Mensa Herman). Some loud mouth Texas fans spent extra money to sit in the good seats next to me. Obnoxious fawkers. Made the win sweeter to watch them slink away in their boots and stupid hats.

         

        Some Sammy D porn that will give  PT  a full 3.5 inch erection.

        I’m jealous,  but in a good way. ‘67 and of course ‘74, I have watched those YouTube videos many times. Nothing like watching a big game live. The energy.

        Being able to say, “I was there” instead of “ I saw it on my 100 inch LED tv” from my  couch,  alone, high fiving no one. Lol.

        Was at the 2004 and 2005 games that you mentioned. We had a bunch of obnoxious Cal fans seated behind us, and when they got that first down at the 9 yard line they threw a bunch of confetti in the air. I remember the third and goal play I thought for sure they were going to catch it and score. We were in the opposite corner, not quite the endzone but corner by the endzone so it was nuts. I remember when they missed on 4th the SC fans around me turned around and gave the Cal crew a bunch of shyte. But not going to lie, we were sweating it. Thought for sure a fight was going to break out but they left at the end with their tales between their legs. With all the firepower Bush Leinart and White it’s easy to forget just how good that defense was.

        Groots, Sartz, Bing, a frosh Rivers, the smurf Arbet. Of course the DL was huge, literally and on the field. Lawrence Jackson, Manny Wright, BIG Shaun Cody. Many more I can add here but PC had good defenses. Low scoring tough game, the kind we used to win.

        Cal fans at the Coliseum were always obnoxious.  There was always at least one fight in the stands the cops had to break up.

      USC vs ucla 1967. OJ vs Beaban, NC on the line
      USC vs ucla; Sam Dickerson’s TD catch, I think it was on 4th Down
      USC vs ND 1974
      USC vs ND; the Bush push and the 4th down catch that preceeded it
      USC vs ND 1967; #1 vs #2. Was it Adrian Yound who had something like 5 INTs?

      Afholter’s catch was great!
      2004 NC game vs Oklahoma was great too

      Was there for the 1st 3 and the Afholter game.

        I was in Drycock, Indiana for the Bush Push game. I have been to many road game victories including other wins in Indiana and many Bowl victories but that Bush Push was so damn good. Having them rush the field and celebrate,  only to rip their hearts out like an Aztec priest and holding their beating heart over my head, was incredibly satisfying.

        Didn’t see “at the Coliseum”, so I’ll add the game against Stanford at the Coliseum during McKay’s tenure when the entire croud stood all through the 4th quarter in a nail-biter which we won.

        Dickerson’s TD catch in ’69 came one play after a fourth-down pass interference call on UCLA, on what today would be ruled an uncatchable ball.

      You have some good posts Mr Saturday. You make us think of great victories and memorable moments . I always have a hard time with your posts because we have had so many great moments. It’s awesome to be a Trojan. Achieving my childhood dream of stepping on campus as a student remains a highlight of my life.

      Thanks SC Gator for acknowledging it was an uncatchable ball on 4th down. In fact before that play Prothro told Dummit to take a knee when we get the ball back and run out the clock.
      Danny Graham who was called for the PI was so shaken by the call he didn’t return to school the following year.

        Man, sports can be brutal/ I always think of Donnie Moore when things don’t go my way. Tragedy. Hope Graham is doing okay now, years later.

        Why deny the obvious?  But Graham clearly hit Dickerson early, and at the time there was no uncatchable ball exception to the PI rule.
