I assume Skubal is Shohei insurance. They are hoping that Yamamoto stays healthy. Wrobleski, Lauer Sheehan and Sasaki can get them to the playoffs. They will. And that they can throw Skubal. Shohei. Yamamoto Snell, Glasnow and maybe Robo in the playoffs. They only need 3-4 of them. And can even piggy back guys if needed.
If I am them, I bring back Snell and Glasnow. See what they can do now. And I have Wrobleski magically go on the IL for 10-20 days with “fatigue” He’s young and has thrown way too many innings for his age. Needs to rest up for playoffs. I might even get Lauer some rest too. Sasaki IMO will either move to the pen or not be on the playoff roster. He can eat innings for now. Same w Sheehan.
I still think they have too many bodies. If I am LA, I try to move Bobby Miller, as well as Ryan Ward. Too old to be prospects, try to flip them for younger A level guys.
I also give Kim a chance to play somewhere. He’s done everything for LA and LA insists on Freeland, I don’t get it. I have to believe Kim has real value, and he has a MLB contract. No sense paying him that kind of money Like $2 million a year? To sit at AAA behind Freeland. I really think LA mismanaged Kims career in the same way I think they mismanaged the left mexican pitcher who beat up his wife in public’s career. Julio Urias.
I think LA has one more move in them. If anything to clear out some of the roster space. Some names I mentioned and maybe still moving Sheehan, Lauer, maybe some extra arms. Maybe Sheehan and Lauer for Chapman of the Sox. Though with Boston back in the race,, they are probably hesitant to move him. Chapman is also old.
