      What a joke rankings.  On3 and writers Crane & Cone did a very poor job.  They did not consider these small schools which ended up top 5 in 2025:  N. Texas St #1, South Florida #3, Texas St #5.  They should be in the top 10 for 2026.  And, USC held #1 for about 5 weeks, but dropped when RB1 and RB2 had season ending injuries.

      My take.

      Miami @ #1 , no way Jose.  2025 they were #40, 2026 they do not make top 10.

      Ole Miss @ #6, now way Jose.  No more C. Kiffin, 2026 they do not make top 10.

      Tennessee, 2025 #7, Florida St #6.  Both schools should make the top 10

      My prediction out of the Big schools, I say USC will be the top O.

      I agree, as usual, with Butkus. Miami at#1 seems absurd, Texas has lots to prove with Manning. Oregon and Ole Miss I also question. On3  isn’t very good with this sort of thing. They like to cater to the team with significant fan presence on their platform. Only one team in that top 10 has a proven, veteran offensive minded HC. Riley by a country mile, Sark #2.

      I’m impressed, guys.  Didn’t realize the more rational USC fans on this board were so high on USC’s offense for 2026.  That is significant to me.  I agree CLR is among the best at crafting terrific offenses!

      Are there any weaknesses with your O in your opinion?

      From a personnel standpoint for Oregon our biggest weakness is our mostly unproven OL.  It helps to have our 2025 Rimington award finalist for best center back, though.  The Pregnant Man is a HUGE loss for us, though…

      I’m curious to see a side-by-side comparison between Oregon’s offense and USC’s offense.

      Beyond players, I think the biggest question mark might be our brand new OC (albeit he’s been with Oregon since Lanning began).  Never want to start a season with a brand new OC, and especially with USC on the docket as the 4th team we will play!

      But Lanning is pretty good at choosing OCs (both ex-OCs are now head coaches at ASU and Kentucky), so some quacks like me remain mildly optimistic.

        Young, mostly unproven at WR/TE. We’re replacing Lemon and Lane, a lot of talent off to the NFL. We’re actually experienced and pretty deep at OL. The caveat is do we have excellence there this year, or just experience, and talented youngsters? Backfield is plenty experienced and should be excellent with Maiava, Jordan and King.

        Agree mostly with your assessment troystory.  Losing Lyons to BYU hurts and combining that with the loss of McCree leaves large holes to fill at TE.  IMO Bowman is going to be great and he is now up to 245lbs and we added Ashcraft on the TP.  We also have some young guys that are showing promise, but TE is still overall a question mark.  As for WR, Tanook Hines is the proven deal and the TP Anderson is also proven and we have plenty of talented backups.  I’m excited to see Mosley and Beavers in action.  Both are very talented but unproven in the slot.  I forgot to mention Tron Baker at wideout.  The coaches are very high on him.
