ParticipantGetting to know our DC Gary Patterson. Looks like he developed a certain type hybrid 4-2-5 D. Sounds good. But dang, more importantly, C. Patterson needs to get his boys become Xlent tacklers, play physical FB & intimidating D. Be in tip top FB condition. I believe if C. Patterson can get USC into the top 14 D in nation USC will make the CFP… Cheers
Hi Bio is impressive. Looking forward seeing his D and if he fixed it.
PS. The last 3 years rankings for USC D. 2023 Grinch = #119 (dam FU), 2024 and 2025 D Aton Lynn = #45, #42. Good improvement but not good enough. DA Lynn D kept making the same mistakes (giving up big plays and TD’s, could not tackle for sheet, poor LB and DB play all season).

ParticipantAgree BB. It’s nice to see that your TDS does not appear in the football board.

ParticipantBruddah Balls hope you’re right. His Bio is impressive. We will soon find out if DC Patterson is the real deal. When C. LR hired DA Lynn away from UCLA we all thought he was the answer. C. Lynn improved the D, but failed producing a top 15 D. He had a top 12 D at UCLA, somehow he could not do dat at USC.
Crossing my fingers C. Patterson will get our D boys play hard arse FB and become one of the nation’s top D. Cheers

ParticipantYes, he had those records.
He also had 10 seasons (out of the 22 he coached) with 11 wins or more. One 13, two 12s, eight 11s. Also a 10.
To put that into perspective, the entire glorious history of football in Westwood has yet to produce a single 11-win season.
Bear Bryant had a 1-9 season at aTm and a 5-4-1 season at Alabama. Would he be okay for you?
