ParticipantHonestly, I can’t stop refreshing the GGG teasers lately. The hype for the “Return of the Ancients” update on May 29th is just unreal, especially since the livestream is right around the corner. Let’s be real for a second, patch 0.4 was a bit of a slog. The Atlas got boring fast, and trying to play melee felt like a total suicide mission. But seeing the potential for POE2Currency to actually matter in a fresh, balanced economy has me buzzing. We are looking at a massive turning point here, and if the community chatter is even half right, the game is about to feel brand new again.
Melee is finally getting some love
It is no secret that playing melee has been a rough ride since launch. But with the Duelist and Shadow finally arriving, plus Swords getting their own dedicated weapon identity, the meta is definitely shifting. I have heard whispers about an unarmed lightning aura for Monks that looks absolutely sick. The real test though is the balance between Life and Energy Shield. We really need to stop dying the second we get within ten feet of a boss. If they give us some actual tankiness to work with, melee might finally climb back to the top of the ladder. It is about time we stop feeling like glass cannons while trying to hit stuff up close.A fresh take on the endgame loop
The current Tower system just isn’t cutting it anymore. It lacks that “just one more map” feeling that makes the game addictive. Everyone is hoping for a massive overhaul, maybe something like quest-driven Sanctuaries or even an Infinite Atlas style system. That would kill the repetition problem overnight. Then you have got the new gems like Demon Magus. Being able to autocast while you focus on dodging sounds like a total dream for build diversity. It is these kinds of changes that will keep people playing for months instead of weeks. I am ready for a system that rewards actual progression rather than just pure, blind luck. The inevitable nerf hammer and gearing up
Look, we all know the nerfs are coming. Temple and Expedition are probably going to get hit since they are way too easy to exploit for rewards right now. GGG always shakes things up when one mechanic becomes the only way to play. Item rarity is likely getting a rework too, hopefully making drops feel more consistent instead of total feast or famine. I have been prepping hard for these changes, and honestly, if you are looking to skip the boring parts of the grind, you can always use u4gm to grab some extra gear or currency to get your new build moving. It is a solid way to jump straight into the new Sword builds without spending your whole life farming. If they nail this endgame rework, 0.5 is going to be legendary.
