The way you wrote it makes me think I am pronouncing it right?  Ma i ava?    Announcer had it as My ava  I just don’t think from all the time I spent there that it’s the latter.  Like you said with Ha Va ie  (and some go further, Ha Va ie ie)  And Kauai  which is Ku wie ie ??

 

Oh well, bigger problems in the world to worry about, Just curious
