I took my SS at 62. I didn’t need the increases at my ‘full’ retirement at 66 or 110% at 70 and did some simple arithmetic and the break-even point was around 78. I got a notice from SS when I started, questioning if I ‘needed’ to take SS at 62 and ‘needed’ further assistance. I ignored it and my wife 2 years later received no such notice.

I don’t need the money but am spending it, not ‘investing’ it. I did that for 40 years and I don’t have to that anymore. I still have my current investments that we haven’t spent still in our portfolio earning money anyway.
