He reduced rates right before the election for Kamala even though inflation was rampant and free money by the FED created it in an attempt to get her elected. He says its not about inflation or the cost of goods or the jobs report but rather the uncertainty of Tariffs...funny tariffs were never brought up before as an element to lower rates and the US has had tariffs long before this Trump administration. Powell is a political ally for the left nothing more....

2. the Fed does not take advice from Congress or the President on monetary policy

3. the reason for the Fed's cautionary hold on interest rates is that certain surveys they take notice of expressed an opinion that tariffs might increase inflation and lower employment in the future, although they stopped short of a predicted outcome

Fed takes advice from opinions in unknown surveys but not Congress or the President

Fed does not take notice of lower levels of government spending, the opposite of which are highly inflationary

Fed ignores hard numbers of current inflation, employment, etc. and focuses on an unknown future and opinions

as point of fact, he said inflation for the LAST 12 months, totaled 2.4%

which shows you how far back he will go to skew the numbers to fit his actions and world view

real inflation is currently about half that, when looking at the last 90 days

exactly, normally they take no notice of tariffs or increases in tariffs such as during Trumps first term, since they are actually a one time event and not inflationary
