George Custer's journal discovered at Little Bighorn

I do not regret my decision to fight at Little Bighorn. It was the right thing to do. We just can’t stay inside the fort forever. Besides, the higherups made me do it. I didn’t get any help from the U.S. Navy! Pioneer families did not support us at Last Stand Hill. Nobody had any idea that Indians would shoot at us. The American public fully endorses what is happening here.
