With our new QB, our receivers seemed to get open far more often than in the recent past. Was this just my imagination?

We beat down a team that lost to Utah State. That's it. Helton lost to them a couple years ago with Leach. We just might have exorcised the Helton demon, that's all. All I could think of when I saw that picture of the team's United charter jet with its front wheel off the ground on the Lewiston ramp is that we finally got rid of that f'n gold brick Helton. But that is about it. On Wall Street they call it a relief rally. Let's postpone Dart's coronation after he beats someone.
I think what people are missing. And I posted it when I wrote the possessions for the game. Is how well the defense set up the offense and how much easier that made the game to play. I didn’t catch it the first time. But upon review the d made about 4-5 massive plays
strip sack Td
int.
goal Line stand
several 3 outs.
knocked wsu qb out of game though I didn’t see where
any one of the above can change a game. They did all the above.
not minimizing dart. His energy was more IMO than Slovis was giving for whatever reason. I think personally Slovis has lost his confidence
Slovis would've carved these guys up just as well. There were more than a few throws made by Dart (especially to the sidelines) that would've easily been picked off by a good to elite secondary.
I do like his gunslinger mentality and his leadership is evident. He did a pretty decent Darnold impression. But those deep outs make you hold your breath.
Would be nice if we had a run game
DC
That too. And Pittman JR as well right
Dart threw ball downfield. Slovis has stopped doing that For some strange reason
Slovis would have carved up WSU just as badly as Dart did. Maybe more. C'mon, don't get me wrong, USC beat WSU like a drum, like they should have, and credit the youngster for stepping up. But how fucking bad does a team have to be to give up over 40 unanswered points to a brand-new QB in their home stadium? I guess I answered my own question -- pretty fucking bad.
Think about it. Dart was probably prepared as much as the other quarterbacks in terms of studying the WSU defense, but he certainly hasn't received nearly as many practice reps as Slovis has, and he had zero game experience, and this was a road game (not a very hostile environment, granted). Again, the kid (what is he, 14 years-old?) stepped up, so good for him. But WSU was HORRIBLE. I wish the Bruins had them on the schedule, they might beat them.
