Why couldn’t Ore.St. advance the onside kick?

    in WildWest Football Board

They recovered the SC onside kick on the fly ran it 15 yds and the Ref’s spotted it back at the point where it was caught. That makes no sense it’s the same as a kickoff which is returnable and his knee never touched the ground. That was as bizarre as the holding penalty on a OSU defensive lineman when SC ran the ball.

Because advancing an onside kick is against the rules. sc

That's obviously the rule for the kicking team. But for the receiving team? Don't you remember Brian Cushing taking an onside kick to the house against Notre Dame?

Remember when that UCLA receiver (Bragg, or something like that?) returned TWO onside kicks for TDs in the Sun Bowl about fifteen or so years ago? That was hilarious.
