He shot a young woman to death nearly at point-blank range with a .45 long colt revolver because some dumb asst director with no prop safety authority told him it was okay to fire straight at her chest.
Killer Alec says the gun magically fired itself. I know Killer Alec is in the make-believe business, but he's taken it to a whole new level to keep himself from behind bars. It's good to know a jury will get to decide his criminal fate in court. Personally, I hope he gets a long sentence. And no, not because he's a stupid dick. Because he's a killer.
He's guilty as charged. He knew the rules and standards of using a firearm on set. They included not actually pointing a firearm at the other individuals in a scene. He didn't follow the rules. He lied and made conflicting statements about the situation to various folks. He was caught red handed in those lies. He also as executive producer was responsible for the hirings and safety of members of the crew as well as knew that folks walked out on the production because of the lack of safety on the set. He'll probably get away with it though but he's guilty as charged..IMHO...so is the armorer by the way.
He aimed at the lady and he pulled the trigger. Loaded or unloaded that is not to be done according to the terms and regulations he signed off on as part of the motion picture standards. He's guilty as hell even if it was unintentional. A regular person would be looking at prison and it wouldn't have taken it that long to get there. "Special" persons get "special" treatment it appears again...and the armorer is also accountable for not controlling the firearm and the ammo on set. She's an accessory to the death IMHO
Only telling you what was announced on the news according to what they said were the safety requirements. Those photos can all be either special effects or a "dummy" gun that can't fire any kind of round. They use those type of props when you see a guy throw a firearm to the ground etc...they never throw a "real" gun around like that..
again, you know way more about this stuff than I do. I don't play make pretend that I know things that I don't. It all looks real to me. Which is the point I guess.
I think the whole thing comes down to arrogance, sloppiness , not following protocols, and like a plane crash a few things have to happen to result in a disaster.
They probably call out "cold gun" so many times on a set that it loses it's intended meaning.
In a prior profession I do know that most shit goes wrong during change of shift when all the rules and protocols get the least amount of attention. That leads to more 2 donut meetings, but eventually those changes also get ignored.
This wasn't the first gun accident on set, and it won't be the last. sc
Agree, but he was careless and reckless in terms of safety on the set. Definitely should get sone sort of stiff fine and community service. her death could have been avoided if safety firearm protocols were followed.
I hear he smokes cigarettes on the beach in San Clemente all the time, and flicks the butts in the water and watches the teenage dolphins come by and light them up, and he laughs.
Baldwin's biggest liability imo is as an executive producer who (with his team) turned a blind eye to the blatant safety violations. It's clear - to me anyway - that the armorer was out of her league and has the lion's share of guilt. The whole culture of actually shooting live rounds and introducing them to the set is a massive no-no. It is basic safety 101. In the movies actors usually aren't responsible for checking the guns, that is the job of at least two people before they are even handed the gun. Baldwin's problem is from the production side, not from actually firing the gun imo.

It matters because it’s attempting to put the blame on something other than his negligence. His main defense is the armorer should have checked for him. It’s a weak sauce.
But I agree, he won’t do time.
BTW, guns are safe if you respect the power, follow the rules, get trained….and practice. The more you handle them, the more comfortable they become. But you must always respect their power.
I built an AR, ground up, installed every part. Only thing that was pre assembled was the bolt carrier group and the trigger. Good way to see how they operate is put one together. It was fun. Next thing on the list is a suppressor!
They are technically illegal to sell, but its in litigation right now. ATF is like the EPA, massive gubment overreach.
The only part of the gun on the AR platform that is registered, is the lower receiver. That’s where the trigger resides. You need to have that registered/background check like a handgun, when you purchase it. The upper receiver, barrel, stock, trigger and all parts are free to buy with no background check or registration. My AR lower is registered. But I have a 80%/ ghost receiver as well.
The ghost guns, or 80% gun part that is being debated is that lower receiver, but it has not been fully milled. IOW, it needs to routed out, holes drilled, etc. A fair amount of metal work is needed to make it viable. It’s not easy, you need to have good equipment, knowledge and experience to make it usable. So this gubment narrative it’ll slow crime is complete BS, criminals and gangmembers arent spending the time or money to build a non registered gun. The only people building guns are enthusiasts and hobbyists. They’ll just grind the serial # off a registered gun. This is a classic gubment overreach while lying to the public.
Here‘s a video of a guy milling out his 80%…this is what the govt thinks will slow down crime.
This is a civil case not a criminal. It has already been settled. this DA just wants her five minutes of fame. Baldwin is a jerk and a bully but not acriminal

They discovered Live 45 LC's rounds on set including in Baldwin's gun belt...

Disagree. If you have a weapon, it is your responsibility to check if its loaded or unloaded, has live ammo or stunt ammo.
What you don’t do is rely on the word of a 20something that it’s safe.
This is manslaughter. Period. Any of us would be in jail right now if this happened to us.
