So, is going to USC to be in the band prestigious for High School musicians, or only for the kids who have a limited capacity to remember more than a few songs? I never could put my finger on that, could you imagine just going around town playing tusk or the fight song at the wedding of every Trojan that ever lived, or sitting in the hot sun doing the same notes every weekend? That must be like what Tommy Tutone feels like, no one cares and just kind of stand there until they play that Jenny song and they go nuts, and then as soon as they are done no one cares again. "Tommy Two-Tunes", damn, I am good.
USC just doesn't cheer like it used to when Rusty Jordan was Yell King. The So Cal spell-out was slow, crisp,, and echoed of the Colosseum, as did We Are....SC.. "Bight it off". He also came up with "Give 'em Hell Troy, and "Kill". Gypsy Boots would come down and lead the Trojan Spell-Out.
Gotta love Stevie Nicks but I prefer this....
CAPTAIN FROM CASTILE (Henry King, 1947) "Conquest" - Soundtrack Music by ALFRED NEWMAN
Is that Dr. Bartner? Pretty cool.
