That’s if you ignore the fact he’s from another continent. This kid is going to attend the university of Washington. And don’t worry too much about this Duck fans, you still owe the Huskies, as well as several other teams, more top Oregon recruits,,,,, or do we even want them?
It's a fairly well-known fact that Oregon does not produce good football players. That's one of several reasons why Oregon has had difficulty being more than an occasional above average football team up until they could finally recruit other regions successfully (I'm talking pre-NIL, post-NIL in itself changes things immensely).
As I've always said on here, give me a 3* recruit from LA, Texas, Florida over a 4* recruit from Oregon. Any day. The level of competition of HS football in Oregon in general is pitiful. But I guess not as bad as some states. As of 2020 there were 12 states that had never produced a 5* recruit, and 6 states that had never produced a 4* recruit.
BTW, I respect what Joey has done for the Oregon football program, after all we have him to thank for the Oregon "O"sign (true story). But he is seen as a bit of a douche by some Oregon fans. For instance, he was behind the efforts to lobby the AD to hire Cal's HC Justin Wilcox instead of Lanning.... 🙄
Our freshman TE Joey Olson is from the same high school as Ansu, Lakerride. The harsh reality is that Oregon rarely produces top flight football talent. Every blue moon, a Troy Polamalu emerges. And I did see Ndamukong Suh at the SC-UCONN game Monday. And I often see that Oregon 'god' Joey Harrington when I work out at our local athletic club.
Ha,,, forgot about his connection to M Williams and the Lions. Does Joey still hate USC today as much as he did 20 years ago? Damn, that was 20 years ago. Lol
My guess is he probably still does. My son's friends all worshipped Joey like he was the second coming. My son thankfully, was a disbeliever and a huge Carson fan at the time.
Dude didn’t even have a commitable offer from Ducks. He’s class of 2026 and Huffman says he’s maxed out ( older for class). And ran a 12.35 100 meters. Probably ends up a LB.
Oh , and he chose UW over the Beavs. Who were thought to be leading.

Not worth a dime of NIL that UW is spending.
