That Caleb is going to try to be a more pocket quarterback as his goal this season.
This is about getting him ready for the NFL and NOT WHAT IS BEST FOR THE TEAM.
Kind of like he tried to be a pocket guy at the start of last season, until CLR told him to use his athleticism and take off.
Problem is, this is NOT who he is. He is not a get rid of the ball guy. He's not a small window guy. He's an extend the play guy looking for something big downfied guy. That works. And what takes him to the next level and got him his heisman is when he takes off and makes those defenses sitting back in deep zones pay. He is improving on check downs. And a lot better in not taking losses running out of bounds.
The way to Slow down Caleb, is to sit in deep zones like Oregon state did last year. The only reason SC did win this game is because Caleb finally took off on 4th down late in the game.
Can't say I blame him for wanting to be an NFL quarterback. CACHING.
by the way Yogi Roth turned into a pretty decent analyst. don't have to turn down the volume anymore. bet someone picks him up after pac 12 dies this season. sc
I always liked Yogi Roth. I know he took a lot of crap on this site, but to me he's really good at what he does in the booth/studio.
I feel the same way about "faggot face." (that one was for you, Clem)
El Doctor, nice post. Keep it up and I just might offer you a nice present. Guess whatit might be? OK Amigo?
Trying to make Williams a pocket passer to boost his NFL stock makes about as much sense as giving college baseball players wood bats to prepare them for MLB. Sure you hurt the team, but it's all about making sure each individual gets to follow his own dream, right?
