I know I'm in a small minority, but I think Sam Darnold is right there with Carson as the best QB in SC history. With a halfway decent college coach he could have won the Heisman. Such a travesty that he ended up on the Jets. Almost any other team would have been a better spot for him.

Those who know FB know how good he was/is. We haven’t had anyone with his high ceiling skill set before or since. 21-3 with an idiot as his HC. 2 of the losses were heartbreakers and both were on road inc his 1st start against Utah. Hugs also used Jalen Green as his WR for a few games until he kept dropping TD bombs. Only game we werent in during his 2 years was against tOSU Who brought serious pressure up the middle & we didn’t adjust.
Keep in mind Darnold‘s legend (or story) is for 2 years. He didn’t even play 3 years at USC let alone 4 (Like Barkley or Carson). He could’ve rewritten the record books And thrilled us with his highlight reel plays. Dude dropped some crazy dimes With a flick of his wrist. First QB I saw consistently throw guys open. Super cerebral.
Sam also was all class on & off the field. Total. Without question. Kid was raised right. Wish he went to Cleveland. Much better talent than Baker Mayfield.

Yes, with any decent coach/line at SC Darnold would be Heisman winner. An indictment of Helton.
