How can they nominate a player who's entire career was wiped off the books due to cheating? What's next, Al Capone to be posthumously awarded the Chicago Home-Distilling championship of 1930?
@DayStalker if Al had a better accountant he would never have gone to jail LOL
Are you a Mensa member DayStalker? You certainly sound like you're a slice of bread short of a picnic.
I'll meet you halfway: Regie's parents shouldn't be in the HOF.
It wasn't Reggie's Parents.....it was Reggie's gold-digging Stepfather.....who encouraged/"played" the Lloyd Lake card (a local San Diego scumball convicted felon) as an "agent" for Reggie/the Family.......leveraged it into a new (free rental) house for StepDad and Mom. Sleazy.
Reggie apologizes to USC, his teammates and the fans he gets my “vote”.... without it, he’s dead to me. He and his family took us down for free rent??? Yes NCAA over reached on the punishment but the first pebble in water was Bush family....
@Pasadena Trojan think about your reply you are right it was the Bush family not Bush or USC and the punishment had nothing to do with the crime but with who USC was. This was a classic case of show me the school and I will show you the crime free Reggie now
There was a crime tho. Although not by USC, it was an illegal gift to a member of their Championship team. And so that hurt us. Could NCAA go hard after the “agent” vs the school. Yes. That part I agree with you on. The NCAA was clearly going after USC. But the Bush family left the “video of the mistress/smoking gun” in the car.....that’s on them.
Hurt a lot of people and teammates for their selfishness. Bush was Great but he didn’t block or tackle all by himself either.
@Pasadena Trojan sounds like you pretty much agree with me
What are the rules for that? His career has been over a long time. He's a sure fire first ballot if it weren't for the smear campaign. But is that normal to wait 15 years? Do they have to wait till their pro career is over a number of years too?
@Java you are eligible 10 years after your last season
He is a punk....do not vote for him
@thesquat he is a great Trojan and a class guy. Period
best college running back I have ever seen. sc
@San Clemente i have seen many who were better...some were Trojans
Arnett and OJ were both better, by far. Check out Arnett highlights, every bit as exciting as Bush, far tougher, and also passed, blocked, and place kicked. OJ was bigger and faster,... and the "tiny Brune" myth is indeed a myth. Bell was a different kind of back, bulldozer like Campbell, but more dependable than Bush....the punk. Yeah, Bush was exciting, fast, but far from the greatest ever.
Love all those guys they were great Trojans like Reggie tough to compare them different eras
@firenze5 not that tough to compare, if you saw them. Calling Bush the greatest back of all time is a huge stretch...even if he were not a punk.
@thesquat I never called Reggie the greatest of all time hate to ruin your day Squaty I think you are referring to San Clemente LOL
I apoligize for all confusion. Meant no disrespect to either Trojan
Best RB‘s I’ve seen....no particular order. All great ones IMO.
Marshall Faulk (was at that game down in Jack Murphy?)
fastest dude I’ve ever seen. Absolute Blur through the LOS.
Stephen Jackson at OSU. Saw him at coliseum. I think He came in when star RB went down? I was blown away how good he looked. Speed and strength. He proved me right. Bigly. That game was his coming out party i think.
Corey Dillon for UW. Saw him in Coliseum as well. Bruiser. Coming out party for him too. CC transfer. Dixie State I think in Southern Utah.
DeShaun Foster. Stephen Jackson light? Size/speed combo. But different running style. Dude Glided. So wanted him in Cardinal & Gold with Carson.
Lendale/Reggie. Highlights galore. Thunder & Lightning. Fight On!!!
The Bus from Notre Dame. Those feet tho.
RoJo. gets every ounce of ability out of that body. A bit undersized to be an all time great. But a stud. being a Trojan bumps him up a lot here.
Demetric Felton. Ok that is a running inside joke For me and John55.
Grew up a Ram fan. Big Eric Dickerson fan of course. But did Not watch him at SMU fwiw.
White Boy version Of Thunder & LightNing. Her hart and then McCaffery.
He should get in. Should also be given his Heisman back and the big dumb cardboard jersey back in the Coliseum. His stepdad is the one that fucked it all up. That idiot was selling signed Reggie jerseys at tailgates. Typical hustler taking advantage of his stepson's name.
@D CLEATER amen
No...not until he admits that USC had nothing whatsoever to do with his chicanery. I am not talking about apologizing...USC took the pole for him, not once has he ever said that USC had nothing to do wifh it. He is a coward...and a punk until he admits that obvious truth.
@thesquat squat when it comes to Reggie I think you have anger issues LOL
sc is not innocent in all this either. Pete turned a blind eye too and sc was, as usual, blinded by the $$$.
says Pete’s conscious I see??? get over yourself and your fiction writing skills....unless Your Pete or he told you, how the hell do you know what he knows/thinks??
Pete turned a blind eye. He knew what was going on. Don't be naive
@D CLEATER Dammit I'm agreeing with Pasadena again lol. The ncaa's own bs documentation that faulted reggie found no fault with PC and stated as much.
I'm not sure that PC turned a blind eye so much as he had one eye on the nfl for three years and was just waiting for the team that would grant him control. imho - kind of like a lame duck who has checked out emotionally.
Says a guy not in the Building, on the team or in the room.......got it. Expert witness here.
@Pasadena Trojan yeah, sure, Carroll really wanted this kid to take money and give up his last year of eligibility. That is a claim worthy of a brain dead brune like Stalindork. It makes no sense at all. Even Bush never claimed that, although the coward never denied it....as he should have manned up and done.
don't have to be in the building, on the team, or in the room. You Homers are in such denial. It was a great run and Pete bailed when he knew what was coming. He let the program get out of control and Bush's family capitalized on it. I saw Bush's stepdad hocking signed jerseys at tailgates with my own eyes.
