Calfurd, SMU appears to be done deal to ACC. Was going to be vote tonight, but shooting at UNC postponed vote.

My guess is vote tomorrow . Commissioners of all conferences meeting Wednesday to vote on new playoffs format, since the pAC 12 is now PAC 2. George is supposed to be there. Is he going to fight for the PAC 2 to remain a power conference.? My guess is George sits at the end table sipping diet soda all day.

OSU and WSU are screwed. They either join Mtn West straight up or reverse merge with Mtn West to keep some PAC assets and future payouts. Either way they become Boise St in the future. Recruits transfer, future recruits are 2*s. Coaches leave. Minor sports get cut. That's the G5 reality.

Per Furd site. They are taking a 1/4 share , increasing to full share after 10 years. They are signing on to the current GOR and exit fees. They will be on sn island until 2036.

So now you're saying the Big 12 has a higher academic standard than Big 10? The truck stop conference didn't take the ducks because of their poor academics?, but the Big 10 didn't care? It was a network selection. The academics have nothing to do with it anymore, and the conference hierarchy play second fiddle to the networks.

and by the way, I'm hearing that the tier 1 schools have demanded and renegotiated the B1G/networks contract. Bottom line: USC, TOSU, Mich and Ped St get more base money; ducks get less base than originally considered. Washington gets what they originally bargained for. Aside from base, each member gets extra money per TV market ratings. Ducks still getting way more than if they joined the truck stop conference.

The big 12 get $31.7 base. Ducks getting less than that in big 10. Even more so now that you reported Ducks getting cut more.

What a cluster F for the Ducks. Getting less than half of Purdue . Still in a conference with SC.

If Academics are no longer an isuue like you say why did the Big 12 say No to Ducks? No room after 16? Not a geographical fit? To woke?

Ducks still better off in the B1G. The ducks already a bigger TV market draw than most of the conference teams. In fact, probably among the top 5 or 6 out of 18. Same goes for Udub.

It's more than just the metro areas of Seattle and Portland. Fervent fanbases take the entire states, much like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan. I think it will work out much better having 4 Pacific teams instead of 2. Better balance.

If Stanford and Cal hadn't sucked so bad lately, and had a more fervent fanbase, it could have been 6.. Small possibility it could still happen.

In any event, there will be some great competitive football games to watch every week. Expect to dig a bit deeper to watch these games on TV.
