Realignment Update

OSU / WSU asked the league for a summary inventory of assets : financials a month ago and haven't received anything.

Another complication is that outside of SC/ UCLA the other 8 schools haven't given formal Notice to the PAC they are leaving.

Word is the pac is waiting for other leagues to announce 2024 schedules as proof

OSU/ WSU aren't Willy Nilly folding cards and going to the Mtn West. The NCAA gives leagues 2 years to get back to the minimum 8 member requirement. OSU/WSU are looking at staying at 2 while having a schedule alliance with Mtn west. Mtn west has 2 years left in their contract. So in 2 years pac could add select teams or just invite all 12. The WSU pres mentioned this is a long shot though.

But OSU/ wsu want all the assets and future payouts owed the league over the next two years.

The WSU pres has publicly mentioned anti/ trust lawsuits. He also mentioned being lied to from other schools during negotiations. Ie. UO/ UW were actively seeking membership to big ten while telling everyone a different story.

This thing could real ugly. Lawsuits messy. Even if they do t win many or any, they get drug out. Depositions from " everyone ". School presidents/ ADs/ media companies.

OSU / WSU know going to the Mtn west is death. A media payout of $5 mil a year. Forget about it . They become Nevada/ Boise st. Toast. Everything is cut. Players transfer. Become 2* U. No one gives a sheet about the Mtn west. It's a pretenders league.

Word is George isn't involved with OSU/ WSU at all. He is doing daily business as if nothing has happened. He knows he's out.

Im assuming All pac 12 teams have voting rights so the other 10 aren't going to vote on anything that helps OSU/wsu.

Who knows how long the Mtn west waits around. They have their own agenda. Who knows if osu/wsu even get the votes to be invited. Maybe they don't want a reverse merger either, fears of getting pushed out. ?

AAC commish already wrote a formal announcement saying they have no interest in OSU/ WSU. If Mtn West does the same. Your looking at FCS or dropping football and other sports.

Problem is, time is getting short for all possibilities and all they see are roadblocks and everyone else just wants them to die.

A reverse merger is laughable. Nobody is going to buy a "Pac x" composed of 90% Mtn West schools as if nothing has changed. As if the Pac was doing great when USC was the bread winner/whipping boy (you're getting what you deserve, pac). Osu/Wazzu will NOT be in a Power conference. Their tv contracts will be next to nil. They should have taken the long view 14 years ago and backed usc when the ncaa started their witch hunt. Only fools would not have recognized who made the pac the PAC.

Not the point. OSU and wazzu needed to do this to protect their interests, regardless of how they feel about USC. They sure didn't have a problem accept money that USC earned for the conference. You want to talk about arrogance, there you are,along w the other dwarves.
