Ex-USC coach McNair settles lawsuit with NCAA
The NCAA has settled a defamation suit filed by former USC football assistant coach Todd McNair, whom the NCAA accused of violating ethical conduct rules during its investigation into whether Reggie Bush received improper benefits.

Settlement prob means all evidence is sealed.

This really speaks to how air tight the NCAA case was. 1) Taint the jury pool with an employee of the law firm representing the NCAA & 2) then settle out of court with the Defendent.

    Nice look.

Now they need to restore the victories and national championship to USC, plus a hefty sum in punitive damages so USC can buyout Helton.

Congrats to Todd McNair. It took him over 10 years to deliver the hurt to the slowly dying and thoroughly corrupt NCAA, but he did it. Well done McNair. The evil NCAA justifiably loses again.

yup, they tried to wear him out. Their strategy is now clear. delay, make Mcnair spend a fortune in attorneys fees. gotta be in the 5 million plus . And you know they lowballed him in their initial settlement overtures. In the end they got their way. Destroyed USC and any challenges to the SEC. The SEC is in a great position right now., and key to the NCAA the details of their nefarious plot remains hidden as the settlement mandates confidentiality. well at least the architect of the fall of troy Paul Dees is still dead,

@BigBallss I'm betting McNair cleaned up in this mediated settlement. He was holding ALL the leverage at this stage. The NCAA was brutally exposed in their own docs/testimony admitted in the trial. The mediator told the NCAA to bend over as they had no appealable issues and McNair was back on his feet, with extent of damages being the only question mark. He got the number he wanted, or he wouldn't have settled, and the NCAA can't appeal it, because they agreed to pay it. Love this!

@Checking It Twice I wish I could agree. McNair lost in a trial. he had to appeal. to win in an appeal you have to show different evidence than the 1st trial. I’m not an attorney but I have had enough business litigation to feel like one. No, the ncaa won. McNair didn’t get the huge payday. His best settlement amount was before he lost the trial. And he turned it down. The nazis basically said, “ you want some more punishment or do you want to settle, we can go another 10 years, no problem”. And all the evidence was sealed , another win for the nazis. But I hope you are right and Mcnair got a few bags of cash for having been blackballed.

The NCAA sucks, so I hope this is some sort of victory. But McNair was a dog fighter, and any man who mistreats animals isn't a real man. Fuck him.

You forget a few things...in his first trial his lawyers screwed up and removedf the most damaging charge against the NCAA which cost him a wn the first tie around and then appealed with that charge included. I beleive the jury said they would have convicted the NCAA on the charge his lawyers pulled from the lawsuit. Second the real damage to USC wasds the way Usc handled the lasuit or hould I say decided to not get involved with any kind of lawsuit and then when out and hired some of the worst coaches in USC history. It could have been if USC administration wasn't so weak with terrible AD's that the punishment the NCAA handed out may not have had the kind of impact it did. USC did a lot of the damage to themselves with their incompetance in how they themselves treated the footbsll program...
