from his days running a digital division at NBC in the early to mid 2000’s. Gonna hold judgment because he is a good person. BUT hate absolutely HATE they went entertainment exec again. Shows that they have little faith in securing a big contract with ESPN or Fox and are maybe pushing their chips in on the digital platform market? George’s is expertise is in digital brand building and digital MA. USC vs Oregon on Amazon Prime anyone, watching on your phone? It sure is another big swing. My wife was a EVP at the NBC Angency (NBC’s Marketing Arm) side and worked with George and his teams to build digital footprint. Then when the agency was rolled into Universal Pictures, George left. Have broken bread with him not a bad person. 1000 timea the human being Larry Scott is. he def lacks the Administrative experience as far as running what is supposed to be a Not For Profit Org. Look for hefty outlays to consultants that will run day to day operations.

Lack of Administrative experience is scary. Pac 12 officiating and Ops need an overhaul as do Pac12 Network Ops. He, in my opinion, based on his role at NBC isn’t the guy to fix that. Hope he installs really good bureaucrats under him to do that. Now strategic planning, A+ hire. Increasing digital footprint B hire. Digital MA and Digital negotiations A hire. My hopes for a major tv deal with ESPN or Fox is inked, fading rapidly. I see a deal with Hulu, Amazon or Apple more likely. Content is moving away from Broadcast monoliths but that is primarily tv shows. event programming and sports will for the forseeable future be on Broadcast networks. The data and the way TV is now consumed backs this up. people will start and stop a tv show on Apple or Netflix and binge watch show. No one start and stops a sporting event nor do the binge it. sports on TV and the use of digital to drive interest is the model. Oregon vs Ohio Star Game on ESPN use in game Twitter to drive interest and create a buzz around the game getting people to switch over or move from their devices to TV. It’s the model to use for sports.
Thanks, Conquest - I'm encouraged by this and by what Feldman wrote....
