Palmer belongs in the NFL HOF. Very good career that was really sidetracked by a bad Cincinnati organization. Rudy Bukich a USC guy lead the nfl in psssunf one year and had a 12 year career. Cassel had a nice career two. Sanchez won 4 playoff games his first two years. Now is a terrific broadcaster.
After surgery to remove a tumor on his brain, Can Brocklen quipped. "They gave me a new brain. It came from a sportswriter because it had never been used." He was an iconoclast and a unique character. Died at 57 of a heart attack, way to young and yes he was a heavy smoker. But a real character.
UW had a streak of every QBs that started a game at UW from Warren Moon (1977) through Cody Pickett (2003) had at least a cup of coffee in the NFL. Erick Bjornsen (1993) spent many seasons in Dallas as a TE (switched from QB to TE his Sr season). Tom Flick (1980). Remember him? I didn't think so but played 7 seasons in the NFL for 5 different teams.
Usc had a guy drafted in the first round who ever started a college game. And I swear I don't remember his name lol. Matt something ? I think he was Leinart backup. He started more nfl games than college or high school. Hilarious
Remember Rudy Bukich. He backed up Al Carmichael and came off the bench to throw the winning td pas versus Wisconsin in the 1953 Rose Bowl and was the mvp. He played 12 years in the NFL and lead the league in passing one year. Never started at USC but had a nice NFL career.
After this season there is a very good chance USC will have 9 Heisman winners, 4 of them qb. 7-8 QB drafted in the first round. 2 overall #1's.
Their coach will have coached 4 of the last 7 Heisman winners and one runner up of the 3 in that span he didn't coach. He will have coached the only QB, PAC-12 player and USC player to win 2. He will also have coached 3 of the last 7 #1 picks, all QB's, in the NFL draft. And another who was the starter in last year's super bowl.
So you be the judge. But based on what USC has produced and the coach that is there, I think their crednetials stand out nicely

The best Duck quarterback IMHO was Norm "the Dutchman" Van Brocklen. I think he was on the same Duck team as John McKay.
I can take a lot here on the wildwest, but don't go dissin' no roboduck! THE best mascot there ever was.
Even the world-famous USC band looked on that day in amazement and jealousy.
Has there EVER been a more epic birthing of a mascot in the history of the NCAA??
To be followed by the quickest ever demise.... 😂

Tale of the tape doesn't lie.
Thank you, TEE. Really appreciate you mentioning USC as a school who has done ok in the Q B department. That means a lot coming from "QBU."
