Everybody relax. The projected first pick in the draft is ALWAYS picked apart the closer you get to draft day.
Is Caleb perfect? No is he a flawed human being? Yes can he raise the dead ? No But there are many reasons Why he is going to be the first pick in the draft. Not sure why any Trojan fans would have a hate on for Williams with all he’s done for USCbut I can’t get into these peoples heads. I think he succeeds in the NFL but that is why they play the games. There are a lot of people out there that have no idea how hard he has prepared to succeed as quarterback since he was 9 years old. He has not worked that hard just to collect a paycheck. He wants to be the best and yet there are those who doubt his dedication. Go figure
I don't hate CW. But I do find him unlikable - and there aren't many Trojan players I dislike. I felt that way before he started getting a lot of the negative press. I expect SC players to exhibit a certain level of class. Most do. But CW disappoints in this area. He first demonstrated this lack of class when I saw the expletive written on his finger nails. He exhibited poor behavior and sportsmanship when re refused to shake his opponents hands in defeat but gladly accepted them and sought them in victory. I see a lot of red flags with him. His football talent is undeniable, but to win at the highest level you must be a leader which requires you to have your troops support and believe in you. That may be a problem in the NFL.
kid comes off as a spoiled Brat sometimes. Not as bad as the SchNoz, but not good either.
He was told he would get a chance to compete and didn't think he was getting a fair shot. This happens on every campus everywhere. It's part of the freshman process. A game all kids have to go through. It's a team thing he just doesn't understand or care to understand.
Moss repeated on Saturday that this year's team isn't about one guy. Clearly directed at Williams.
Should be interesting when Caleb finds out for the first time in his life he can't out athlete NFL guys. He has never faced that kind of adversity.
I wouldn't draft him, but I will be pulling for him. sc
Exactly. Even the unbearable Ryan Clark was asking if this is really what he was trying to say. There’s confidence and then there’s narcissism.
I remember watching the Texas, Oklahoma game with Caleb replaced Spencer and led them to a comeback win. During that game, I was watching Caleb’s sideline behavior. I realize it doesn’t tell the whole story at all but often times there are glimpses into a dudes, personality. I thought he came off as a pompous asshole tbh.
But I told myself who knows. I don’t know the guy. At all.
Seems like it wasn’t too far off here. Unfortunately.
He’s playing a role. Trying to send a message. This is all rehearsed
This kid is not real. He works hard. Is well studied. Does the right things. Just doesn’t have a passion for this. He wants to be rich and famous. Wants to do great things with his life and football is the vehicle.
Is that enough? I dunno. I tend to think not. I tend to think the qb who survives the nfl career and wins big sells his soul for the game. Elway. Brady. Mahomes. Maybe he is. We will see
But he will get a 4-5 year deal worth what. $50 million? Even after taxes and agent and trainer fees there should be enough to live well for he and his parents. And I don’t see him as the type to stop $25k in a night at the strip club. I think at the worst he should be able to parlay his first contract into a comfy life. Meaning he should net $15-$20 million cash in bank after the vultures are all paid.

He has an alpha bone in his body, it's just not his.
