I think USC shot their wad early in the hopes that by being out front that momentum would build momentum.
What I fear as many ducks have pointed out is that there is another level of promise and negotiation, which will happen in December as the signing day approaches
And when that happens, the top recruits will all get offers that will cost another digit or two. And while Oregon or others might be ready to put bids on these guys last minute like a car at an auction. USC, they have already pushed their chips to the center of the table.
They could always do what a couple of school's coaches and their staff did by giving back part of their salaries to help the Nil collective out...Riley alone makes enough to float another session of NIL bidding...
Suspect you are correct. I couldn't understand why everyone was getting hyped of USC's recruiting since they can't sign anyone right now. You have to know that right now they are just jostling for poll positions. The actual race gets run in the fall. We'll see how USC's NIL stacks up then. I'm guessing UO, Bama Texas etc are backing off to keep the prices down for now. They know they will have to raise bids later and running up prices now is just bad business.
That’s a little depressing
I have a hunch that SC coming off recruiting of Utu, Lee and Swafford that SC is preserving its NIL to recruit bigger fish. What do you think BB?
