@ATLBRUIN I don't know how Riley is WRT to discipline, but if he's a good disciplinarian then USC might go far. Because that team is badly in need in that department.
i am not so sure about the hire...poor defense and Texas Tech offensive scheme.....but altleftwing just called for the paramedics....so maybe USC done good.
It was posted on twitter which kinda backs up my take that Riley didn't look happy the last few games even when they won...apparently Riley didn't like OU joining the SEC and that may also be a reasdon he didn't consider the LSU job which would have likely outbid USC for Riley. Some say he was scared to go into the SEC while my take is he's tired of seeing the SEC get all the kudo's and seeing how A&M has done since going there even with a high paid coach...the PAC should be a walk in the park compared to playing in the SEC...and a surer way to get into the BCS playoffs...my take
lol, can’t wait to meet up with the SEC again. They are scared of USC. With good reason, we have kicked their ass in Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, auburn, Texas. Riley cane To SC because he knows what a strong SC can do. He has seen It. Over $100 mill to live in southern california, great weather, great school, great talent and probably own the conference year 1. or live in drycock Oklahoma. Easy choice.
I don’t think there’s a better hire out there, frankly. And beating LSU and Florida out is huge. Saban and Meyer aren’t going anywhere, so this is the best of the best.
Recruits are going to start knocking on the door now.
Absolutely....and even with all the great QB's he had OU still had a running game...some of USC's personnel should fit his schemes ...others ...so long...
@August West No, Augie, no. Compare Oklahoma's offense with Harrell's and give me one reason why you'd want to keep Harrell around. If he stays, it means one of only two things: (1) Riley is an idiot; or (2) Riley doesn't have full control, which would make Bohn an idiot.
Dumping both coordinators and all the assistants -- including Donte -- should be the first order of business for any competent head coach. Hire the guy who out-recruited Donte for all the SoCal talent currently committed to Oklahoma
He drank Drano at learning USC hired a coach
Maybe, but I'm just glad it wasn't Aranda or Fickell. Riley's defenses sucked almost as bad as USC's defense under Donte.
I am not a huge fan Riley but this meets USC's needs. He is a big name and a successful respected name.
I agree with you. This is a big "F"ing hire.
