With the addition of Domani, along with the other recruits who never would have signed with Clay, then looking at his staffing, I’d give CLR an A. if recruiting alone were 70% of his grade, he’d get an A from me.
When I compare him to Petes first month, in a far more aggressive college football climate and the current bottom SC is currently viewed vs Carrolls time of inheritance, I’d give CLR an B+ because I have no idea on his staff. He did retain the former interim HC for recruiting purposes but beyond that skill I don’t think he brings anything to the table. If he ever wants to be an HC, he’ll need to go back to high school to prove himself, imho - that or a jc somewhere. But back to CLR, with Domani the remaining signing period and the portal, I think SC is going to have a building block class, much like when Carroll brought in that dynamic linebacker group along with key dl in Sean Cody and Phat Pat. The future looks bright
